Hi, As announced at Ignite Sep 2020, we will be making this functionality available as an open source tool by the end of the year. It can be used to pull in 1 or more security groups (nested or not) to drive the membership of a M365 Group. The membership will be pulled in as a flat list and kept in sync with the security group membership. However, if you have a pressing need for it before then, please reach out to GMMSupport@service.microsoft.com for a download of the tool. There is no support provided for the tool from Microsoft, other than answering any question around how we use it here. Please consider that in other to provide a smooth migration from hybrid environments to a full cloud environment, our old distribution lists being converted to O365 groups (soon to be M365 groups).
Delaying the option of nesting both security and office (including dynamic groups), will only delay and frustrate companies trying to become fully cloud environments.
    Thank you.

Disabling the welcome mail is possible with an extra parameter in the Set-UnifiedGroup cmdlet in Exchange PowerShell: -UnifiedGroupWelcomeMessageEnabled:$false. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/users-and-groups/set-unifiedgroup

Use this as a part of a custom group creation flow if you would like to restrict and/or customize the welcome mail for many groups across your tenant.
