Yes I agree. I receive support tickets regarding this regularly. The issue being that with multiple users collaborating on an Excel spreadsheet, everybody's view of the spreadsheet is immediately changed when one user applies a Filter to a column. Very unsettling, confusing and unworkable for users.

We see two patterns in this feedback thread and are addressing them now. The first pattern is that users want AutoSave OFF. The second pattern is that the Template scenarios are problematic with AutoSave.

To address turning AutoSave OFF, we have implemented these capabilities:

    1. To avoid accidental edits by others, the owner of a file can set it to Always Open Read-Only. This can be done by setting the file to open in Read-Only Recommended (File > Info > Protect Document/ Workbook/ Presentation > Always Open in Read-Only) or by Sharing the file without allowing others to edit (File > Share > People with the link can edit > Uncheck the “Allow Editing” box).

    2. Users can turn AutoSave OFF for a file. While a document is open, clicking the AutoSave toggle turns AutoSave OFF for the current document for that user. The next time the same…

Thanks to everyone for your feedback and votes on this item. We’re working through a couple of options and hope to have more information shortly. It’s a very difficult problem to solve since group membership is consumed across many different aspects of Microsoft 365. Thanks for your patience and keep the feedback coming!

Azure Active Directory Conditional Access has functionality for “Countries/Regions” – see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/conditional-access/location-condition

That said, the most effective protection you can have against password spray attacks is to enable MFA and disable basic authentication. If you cannot do this for your entire organization, then blocking user access to legacy protocols like POP, EWS, IMAP and SMTP is another step you can take. Exchange Online Client Access Rules can help you to further customize (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/client-access-rules/client-access-rules). For additional recommendations, please see Office 365 Secure Score.

That said, please know that we are listening to feedback and working on solutions to help make Office 365 users more secure. Thank you for the feedback.

Ah good to see this has been raised. I came across the issue searching for existing members in a Distribution List. I agree that the inconsistency is frustrating. I was going to submit the following after MS Support identified the issue as a design decision (wtf?!!), so will add as a comment in support of your "suggestion" - even though I think we all agree that the distinction between "omission by design" (the Microsoft opinion on this) and a "bug" is a matter of perspective!

Improve search for a Group Member within a Distribution List

Office365 Admin Centre Groups - Searching for a Group Member within a Distribution List fails to find the User when: (a) Searching by User's last name (b) Searching by User's first name without capitilisation that matches how user name is capitalised. This search behaviour is inconsistent with general User search and leads to false negatives. Any chance the search behaviour could be improved?

Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion. Remember, the more votes a suggestion gets, the more likely it is that we’ll do it. You can see what’s happening with Office 365 on the Office 365 Roadmap.
