Perhaps it's time to stop voicing opinions that are never heard here (we are more than 32!) and take them to a change.org or avaaz petition where millions of us can shout STOP THE SILLYNESS!
Perhaps Microsoft might listen then!
@GeorgeSchlotthauer - you hit the nail on the head with that comment!
I had set my Office 365 to previous version because I have issues with the new toolbar icons both in colour (lack thereof) and size.
For the past 8 months I have sped along with old icons and my customized toolbars - I'm in publishing, speed and efficiency is everything.
I just installed a language pack, not an update, and now you've ruined all my toolbar layouts again. I did not consent to an update! Everything is nondescript, again. Everything on my toolbars is collapsed to a dropdown arrow, again. I will now have to waste my time to find out how to revert yet again. AGAIN!
WHERE IS CUSTOMER CHOICE? OR IS OUR ONLY CHOICE TO LEAVE MS?
NOT HAPPY AT PAYING AND HAVING NO CONTROL!!!
Today this is even more relevant!
see also ''Change the ribbon icons back to how they were!" and vote there too!
New 50 shades of grey approach, I hate it too so temporarily have reverted to previous build. Very little colour and flouncy shapes, when you're clicking 1000s of times a day the extra recognition time adds up.
Also my dumbing down comment is definitely only aimed at MS and NOT Apple at all.
@Patrick Rodgers, I didn't want to mention the 'A word' myself but the whole feeling I have with Office is very much that...eye candy over function, as well as dumbing down everything and making life trickier for those of us who more extensively use Office functions. MS has been making customization/personalization of our tools harder and harder. The "new improved' icons I already hate, and as for colour theme choice...could it be any more restricted?
(no Apple wars here, I love some of their products really)
