Thanks to everyone for your feedback and votes on this item. We’re working through a couple of options and hope to have more information shortly. It’s a very difficult problem to solve since group membership is consumed across many different aspects of Microsoft 365. Thanks for your patience and keep the feedback coming!

Even if you don't allow "nesting" as such, it would be good to be able to flag various "attributes" of group membership, for example "READER" versus "MEMBER" this would probably give us the same functionality -- ie: if we had a 365 group that worked in SharePoint/Teams but could say "Today we want to be able to Email/calendar this group, but only the MEMBERS and OWNERS, not the READERS. Similarly, being able to say within this SharePoint site, give the "READERS" read-only level access and the Members Editor level

This is a serious design flaw on Microsoft's part. We rely extensively on Distribution Groups for notifications.but can't add guests to those groups. We've got systems which require the creation of guest users for authentication and login.

We've already set up our guest systems and have been running them for a while. We don't want to have to delete all of our users and recreate them just so that we can get them into distribution groups. It simply doesn't make sense.
