We’ve recently shipped the ability to change the SharePoint Site URL associated with a Microsoft 365 Group (formerly Office 365 Group). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=56205. This can be done via the SharePoint Admin Center. The site URL can be changed on a per-site basis, but currently we don’t have plans to allow admins to change the global default from “/sites” to something different.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback and votes on this item. We’re working through a couple of options and hope to have more information shortly. It’s a very difficult problem to solve since group membership is consumed across many different aspects of Microsoft 365. Thanks for your patience and keep the feedback coming!

Really need this functionality!! Trying to display documents from other sites and show specific columns, but can't. I've looked for "roll up" webparts from 3rd party vendors, but nobody seems ready to do this on O365!
