Can't move off of Shared Mailboxes until we can create and interact with subfolders.

And I have another use case that I had forgotten about where I actually previously moved a function from a shared mailbox to an Office 365 group/team and sorely miss having the ability to sort past emails into sub-folders as it makes keeping track of yearly projects and sub-projects MUCH more difficult.
That was my real first "Groups" mailbox project I didn't realize at that time that Group/Team mailboxes didn't have sub-folders and was a bit upset with the limitation.

This is a pretty big loss in using groups versus a Shared Mailbox or even Public Folders. Would absolutely LOVE to see this implemented! Had another use case last week where a team wanted to be able to collaborate on emails together and if we had the ability to move emails into sub-folders as they were worked on/replied to/completed, it would make the process MUCH more useful.
I still choose to use an Office 365 Team (group on the back-end) so we had the other functionally of a team/group available to us if we needed/wanted it, but the mailbox component of it is lacking without having sub-folders access so still hoping this functionality does still get added!

Hi! As we announced during Ignite this year, we are releasing an open source tool by the end of the year that can be used to pull in one or more security groups (nested or not) into the membership of large Microsoft 365 Groups. The membership will be pulled in as a flat list and kept in sync with the security group membership. Having Azure subscriptions is a pre-requisite to using this tool. The successful deployment would require support from personnel that have experience in building, deploying and managing Azure services, so you can get through the installation smoothly. If you have an urgent and immediate need for the tool, please reach out to GMMSupport@service.microsoft.com for a download link. Microsoft is releasing the tool without support, other than answering questions about how we use it internally.

@RikH,
I think you can access it, but it just doesn't show up on your app launcher. Go to https://outlook.office.com/owa/#path=/bookings and set it up. Seems to work fine for our Edu tenant. -

In a school, this would be a HUGE benefit. Telling each and every student and teacher to manually pin a (custom or not) app to their app launcher is a major pain in the butt!
Any news on adding the ability for admins to do this?

Any feedback from Microsoft on the possibility of this?
We can add custom app buttons to Office 365/Azure AD so why not let us access the Office 365/Azure AD apps launcher from other apps set up to SSO with O365/Azure AD?

Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to share your suggestions. We’d like to clarity, as some commenters have pointed out, that we do have AAD support for iOs today. Android and WP versions are in the works. Please stay tuned and keep your feedback coming!

Office Lens works fine with Office 365/Azure AD accounts on Windows Mobile. Not sure about Android though.

Similar to Phil Lepanto, but teachers see specific version history/track changes functionality as a critical feature in Google Docs to see "how" a student (or students) edited a document. Not having this functionality in Word Online/OneDrive/Groups/Teams is a HUGE ding to Office 365 vs G-Suite in an educational/academic environment.
Any chance of seeing this come any time too soon?

Should be able to do this without having to create an eDiscovery job.

Great news! This capability is included in in the recently updated Office 365 Roadmap entry: “Admin App Launcher Customization Tools” which can be found in the “In Development” section.

Any chance to get someone at MS to write an activation script for Macs that would allow us to use Device Based Activation (DBA) for our Mac labs?
It stinks having to use our serialized volume licensing for our Mac labs and not be able to use the new features that have been and continue to be released. Our Mac lab users suffer.

This would be huge in making the move from my current DL structure to Office 365 Groups.
