Honestly there is no need to have both M365 Group and Shared Mailboxes. The best thing would be to flesh out M365 groups with Shared Mailbox features (i.e. folders, aliases) and then provide pathway to migrate shared mailboxes before they're deprecated.

I am surprised to see that this isn't voted up by every company that uses multiple domains. We're a family of related companies, and I hit this limitation all the time. The workaround I use is to create the Office365 group in the Exchange admin panel, as that gives me a domain selection dropdown. But it is disappointing that the now nice Group Creation Wizard does not.

This is almost embarrassingly obvious necessary feature. I realize that it goes deeper than just Office365 into Azure, but that doesn't make a difference in it's importance. Developers need to be shifted into creating a solution. As one suggested, some form of vanity alias, keeping the tenant domain the same would also work. Something has to happen. Company decision makers don't believe me when I say it's not possible, because there's such a high need, they figure it has to be possible.

Hi, As announced at Ignite Sep 2020, we will be making this functionality available as an open source tool by the end of the year. It can be used to pull in 1 or more security groups (nested or not) to drive the membership of a M365 Group. The membership will be pulled in as a flat list and kept in sync with the security group membership. However, if you have a pressing need for it before then, please reach out to GMMSupport@service.microsoft.com for a download of the tool. There is no support provided for the tool from Microsoft, other than answering any question around how we use it here. Link to the tool demo at Ignite: Making IT more efficient with improvements to Microsoft 365 Groups – https://aka.ms/Admin1011

This is a really important feature. We are looking to switch from GSuite and our users are clamoring loudly to access company calendars in their calendar app along with their personal calendar (as they can on Outlook on their computers)
