This is a critical need for my Organization as well. the ability to create an app from SharePoint is great, but we are forced to use them for data entry only due to this limitation. Please match the capability of SharePoint at least; 5000.

So this thread has been open for a while. How is MS progressing with that fix?
We have 2013 Project and Visio on the same Win 7 and 10 machines as Office 365 Pro Plus 2016. All works but not reliably and weekly maintenance is now a thing for Office! Microsoft is now forcing us to consider paying more than double the cost of our entire E3 for nonprofits subscription, just to use project reliably. We have to tell our users who want Visio, "Sorry, we just can't", and they say, "But we had it last week!"
Remember "Backward Compatibility"? Those were the days.
