Is there any chance at this getting resolved? We really want to use stream but everyone complains of the bad quality and just stops our simple screen share tutorial videos before Stream can catch up. What a joke... Talk about missing the big E on the eye chart.

AdminMicrosoft 365 Groups Feedback (Product Owner, Microsoft Office 365) responded
Following up on the previous update, if a workload (such as Planner) is enabled for Outlook by default, we don’t plan on hiding those groups from the GAL. The only other scenario currently under consideration where we would hide groups by default is “Secret Groups”. “Secret Groups” would be hidden from everywhere unless you are a member. “Secret groups” is on the Microsoft 365 Groups backlog, but there is no delivery date available at this time.

Microsoft - what happened to releasing this in 2016? And just use the same friggin attribute that already exists vs creating some sort of secret group.

Hi! As we announced during Ignite last year, we want to share with you an open source tool which makes it easier to manage a large group roster by taking advantage of existing security groups and/or smaller groups kept up to date by teams within the larger org. The tool essentially takes security groups or other Microsoft 365 Groups as source group(s), produces an aggregated flat-list membership roster of the destination Microsoft 365 Group based on the source groups and continues to keep the destination group roster in sync with the source groups.
The solution is released “as is” under MIT license and Microsoft is not obligated to provide any support service. Deploying the tool requires experience in building, deploying, and managing Azure services. For more information on the capabilities, pre-requisites and to download the tool, visit: Group-Membership-Management tool (github.com)

tell you more...? what more do you need to know after 4 years and this being the top requested idea for O365 groups?

We really need this capability for the reasons stated in the suggestion. Distribution groups have this functionality and if MS expects O365 Groups to replace distribution groups, this same functionality needs to exist.

It would be nice if Microsoft could comment on this.... It's been almost over a year since this was suggested.

Not to mention, installing the same version of office using the Click to Run has taken me 1 hour on a client. 1 hr all to change my update channel settings.

This has been the #1 complaint from users since we implemented safe links. If a hyperlink can't be created it should read something like
https://safelinks=<original_url>_unique_safelinks_identifier. ie.
https://safelinks=www.microsoft.com_123456789321321321abc123.

The purpose of the Office Deployment Tool is to provide this capability. Download the Office 2016 version from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49117.

Only problem with ODT is that it doesn't work for the Business Premium license. You have to pay $20/mo per user for the enterprise license.

It would be nice to hear some comments from Microsoft on this one.
