  2. DLP policy to notify the sender with policy tip, when user tries to keep recipient in Bcc

    Dear Team,

We need to keep track the user who is keeping recipients in Bcc field while sending new mail.
I was trying to create a DLP policy to notify them with policy tip. But not able to create it. Because transport rule not having option related Bcc.
    Please help on this.

  3. Allow more than a single transport rule for OME

Recently, I created a DLP Transport Rule for Office 365 using the US Financial Data Services as a template and the transport rule action was to Apply Office 365 Message Encryption.

Prior to implementing this transport rule I had a simple OME policy of encryption e-mails with a high priority that were sent outside my organization.

After spending some time trying to figure out why this Transport Rule (and corresponding action) was not working, I have learned that having more than one Transport Rule using OME is not permitted.

I see this as a shortcoming - as using an encryption…

  4. Option to archive encrypted messages in One Drive for Business

Mental health providers communication with clients and patients are a required part of the medical chart/record. You offer HIPAA compliant email encryption, but it is difficult to capture and store messages with the rest of the chart, because the system is mainly set up to read and respond, without the ability to save messages elsewhere. That is great for security, but then requires workarounds (like copying and pasting messages elsewhere to save the content.

  6. MasterCard Series 2 BIN Range not being detected as card numbers

MasterCard is releasing a new BIN range for cards soon (https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/issuers/get-support/2-series-bin-expansion.html)

We have tested using a number of test numbers for this new BIN range, and our DLP that blocks Card Numbers is not blocking these (note: these are valid card numbers - albeit test cards and pass Luhn etc).

Believe the new BIN range needs to be added to Exchange Online DLP.

  7. No e-mails should be delievered from 8pm to 7am, unless there is an emergency.

“No e-mails should send out between 8pm – 7 am, unless there is an emergency. In other words, we can draft e-mails, send them, however e-mails should be delivered after 7 am, unless there is an emergency”
    Can this rule be implemented?
    Please confirm

  9. Fix false-positive on Block Extensions Transport Rule - Attached email Subject line ending with .com

We have noticed a bug in the case where an email subject ends in .com (eg. This is a test@microsoft.com), and a user attaches that email (as an attachment on a new message). If there is a Transport Rule set up to block emails by file extension and it includes the .com extension - it will block the email based on the attachment even though .com is not the file extension (it's actually .msg).

To recreate the problem in Office 365:

    Using Outlook or OWA:
    1. Send yourself an email with the subject line "this is a test@test.com" …

  10. The links on Android (Not sure about IOS) are broken when offering to install OME

    Hi,
When opening an encrypted email on android prior to installing OME, the links to install the OME are broken and you need to ho manually to the play store. This may confuse non technical users and they will probably give up

  11. Expanding policy-settings for unknown malware

Issue: Very huge amount of false-negative detections as "unknown malware" on pdf and xls files (without macros!).

Suggestion from MSFT: Creating a policy for the reaction to attachements that are considered as unknown malware.

Only option there is, is to set a RECiPIENT out of our domain as "trusted" which means this recipient can receive ALL mails with unknown malware no matter where they are from - truly not what we want, that logic really bothers me.

What we need is to set a SENDER as trusted.
That might fal under "we need a whitelist", but I am only talking…

  13. We have implanted DLP policies and straight away we have had a huge number of false positives specifically associated with the "France Natio

We have implanted DLP policies and straight away we have had a huge number of false positives specifically associated with the "France National ID Card (CNI)" rule. Looking at the information on this page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/securitycompliance/what-the-sensitive-information-types-look-for#france-national-id-card-cni The rule suggests a very simplistic 12 digit number and no keywords. This is, in our opinion, far too simplistic a check and the rule must have associated keywords to give the rule some form of validity and confidence. We have had to remove this specific check from our policies, which defeats the whole purpose of DLP!
