  1. Detect tampering of labels

Enforce an anti-tampering mechanism (such as the client having a hash of the label and knowing if it was changed) and log centrally for reporting.

  2. Tracking without protection

I can really se the need for tracking a document without protecting it. Everyone can freely share this document but I can track who and when it is used. Could be based on a signature instead of encryption.

(Note: the original feature request was called Tracking without Encryption, but this can't be possible as without encryption anyone can open the content even without a connection, and thus tracking would yield extremely unreliable results, so we redefined it as Tracking Without Protection)

The All Authenticated users feature allows for tracking without protection. Of course, tracking without encryption is not possible since if it’s not encrypted no license is required for accessing the content and thus there can’t be tracking, but the feature currently in preview should meet the same need. I’m renaming the feature request to reflect this reality.

  3. Enable Exchange DLP, eDiscovery, Journaling and other functions to decrypt protected attachments

Add new options in EXO DLP to interrogate and analyze protected attachments in unprotected emails or in emails protected with a different policy.

  4. Allow labels to have different visibility in Outlook and the other applications

Allow for selectable labels to be hidden in Outlook, whilst still appearing in the other applications, if they are not pertinent to Email.

  5. Exclude email accounts from DLP policies

We would like to setup a DLP policy to prevent emails being sent containing NI/SSN information, with the option for users to override. However, we use Zendesk for client tickets which, when picked up in the policy, the override is seen by Zendesk as a auto-response and suspends the ticket.

We tried to exclude email accounts related to Zendesk but it appears the options were only visible because we were setup for First Release content and the ability to exclude emails should not be possible.

Please could this be added so that specific email accounts can be excluded from the…

  7. Policy tips don't work in Outlook for some types of policy

The documentation on policy tips states that the following tips are not currently supported in Outlook 2013 and beyond:

We're currently working on support for showing policy tips for additional conditions. These include:

Any email attachment's content could not be scanned
Any email attachment's content didn't complete scanning
    Attachment file extension is
    Attachment is password protected
    Document property is
    Recipient domain is
    Sender IP address is

Support for these tips needs to be added, as this makes the policy much less useful (for example, you can't set an "advisory" policy that attachments shouldn't be sent outside the domain as there…

  8. Inherit the classification label during export operations

When users export, save as or print (e.g. to pdf file) a document that has already a classification (or protection) label, the destination file should keep the same classification label and protection of the source file.

  13. dlp report

We need to improve reporting for violations on DLP on exchange. We need to extract a detailed report containing information related to the source of the violation. For example, if the violation comes from exchange email we need source email and destination.

  14. Limit actions done by Macros

There are many request from customers to limit the actions that can be done with Macros.
Right now, if [Allow Macros] is granted as a usage right, any kind of Macro can be executed (like Macros to copy data from a protected file and paste it into a text file which is not protected).

Therefore, customer's request is to be able to limit the actions that can be done with Macros on protected files.
For example, allow only "Read-Only" Macros.

Please consider the idea of implementing a feature that would allow customers to limit the actions that can be done…

  15. Apply default label to SharePoint and OneDrive docs

Users may uninstall AIP client to attempt to circumvent AIP policies or just because they find it annoying. If the default label could be applied to any documents in SharePoint or OneDrive could be applied even if AIP client is not present, it would alleviate this potential security end-run.

Typically, end-users will not have admin rights to uninstall applications, but some times it is inescapable, esp in a small business.

  16. Allow modification to Do Not Forward template

The DNF template has restrictions on copy, print and export. Some customers would like to modify this template for example to allow print.

Maybe also a possibility to add a company wide scope of users to this dynamic rule like the request in
    https://msip.uservoice.com/forums/600097-azure-information-protection/suggestions/19602400-dynamic-protection-templates

And the possibility for the sending user to add more users to the permission list with BCC and without BCC

for example if Sara@contoso.com send DNF to Anna@contoso.com and Lisa@adatum.com but wants Anna@contoso.com to be co-owner.

if Sara@contoso.com send DNF to Lisa@adatum.com but wants her team to be co-owner.

Allow for ad-hoc permissions/rights ('Custom Permissions') in Outlook 2016 when composing messages, just like you can now do with Custom Permissions in Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Windows Explorer.

  20. Multi Language Support for visual marking

Would like enhanced multi-language support for visibility markers within Office 365 documents that use Azure Information Protection.

Currently visibility markers only display in one language
