  1. Enable scheduling a task of AIP Scanner

Currently, AIP Scanner is possible to run the task manually and always.
We would like to run AIP Scanner's task at a specific time or dairy, day of the week, weekly...

  2. AIP stream-based API FileHandler::IsProtected doesn’t work as expected when the extension of the input fiel name is not matching with that o

The stream based API of MIPS SDK FileHandler::IsProtected requires correct extension to be passed in the input file name in order to determine whether file is protected or not. In a nutshell, the implementation of IsProtected methos doesn’t have true file type identification and relies on file extensions to be passed in externally. This creates issues for the client which doesn’t know the extension of the file. Currently we address this by calling the API with different extension in the input file name but this is not very intuitive from caller perspective.

We have legitimate use cases where we don’t…

  3. Be able to configure Scanner policies and repositories at the local level

Some organizations have many divisions with independent management. They can’t centrally manage AIP Scanner policies and Repositories via a central portal. The AIPScannerRepository PowerShell commandlets allowed for a degree of independence but that flexibility is gone with the centralized management. Either bringing back the Scanner configuration PowerShell or providing other methods such as RBAC for segregating administration would address this.

  4. AIP authentication supports SSO in roaming environments

We wants to use AIP on roaming profile environment like Xenapp. But authentication is always required in this scenario, because there is no authentication information at roaming environment.

I understand to roam AIP authentication information is not support, so I wish at least to change design to AIP authentication with SSO.

  5. Markings not updated when Outlook reclassifies a document when selecting other classification for mail

When you have a document with classification A - drag it into a mail and set classification to B - the markings of the document are not updated.

    Please fix

  6. Ability to enforce a "super user" as co-owner for personal tags.

We are looking for a way that when a user define personal/custom permissions in AIP client (Classify & Protect) we can enforce some requirements. In particular, that we can always a specific "technical" use who would have full permission on the document in addition of any custom permission the end-user will put on his document. The intend is to avoid needing to use the "Azure Super User" to recover the document and only use this "technical user" account.

Another approach could be to have a way to delegate the "Super User" right. For exemple, is there a way to delegate…

  7. Option to generate reports for Azure RMS protectors, currently none available

Currently we are not able to generate report for Azure RMS protectors and the current usage reports. We don't have proper logging available and could not get the report using Powershell as well. Need to know how many outlook users are protecting and consuming the ARMS services. This is for License assignment and currently using onboarding control policy and need to shift to license model.

  8. Set sending E-mail notify of DocumentTrack in a lump by administrator.

Administrator want to watch the E-mail of document track notify.

    • They want to set sending the E-mail against all documents in a lump.

    • They want to set receiving the E-mail against Administrator(or specific user).

  9. Enable Governance actions for Anomaly policies in Cloud app Security

Currently you can only take governance actions (such as suspend user automatically) for Activity policies in Cloud app security. This should also be done for Anomaly policies. For instance, the Anomaly policy impossible travel. If an alert for this gets generated I would like the user to be suspended automatically in order to better ensure that their account did not get compromised.

  10. PowerShell check for revocation status

Provide the ability to check revocation on documents. The ability would be useful for cleaning up folders and libraries where revoked documents are common.

  11. Limit protection to exclude specific domains on Azure AD tenants

Currently in AIP, When you add one "domain" to your template/protection settings you are essentially adding the "AllStaff' object for that tenant. This object is effectively "authenticated users" for the whole target tenant which means it includes all verified domains within this tenant.

I would like to see an option to narrow the scope of the users in another tenant without the need to create a specific group with those users that tenant, because in some scenarios, you don't to allow all verified domains to be readable.
Or alternatively, making sure while adding domain, it's only applying for that domain…

  12. Support for Multi-tenant on AIP Scanner

I have several customer's that have a AD forest with multiple domains. In their migration to Office 365 they are forced to have multi-tenant setup to segregate data. However they share on-prem file servers and SharePoint. To separate the Auto-Labeling and the encryption key they need support for multi-tenant in AIP Scanner

  15. Enable automated data classification

AIP should allow classification to be set via C# or VBA instead of requiring manual settings

  16. Allow non work or school accounts to open AIP and IRM protected documents

When trying to open a document e.g. PDF that has IRM applied to it, application AIP Viewer or Edge Chromium asks you to log in to a Work or School account to view the document. Please allow non-work or school accounts to also login and see the document.

  17. Open AIP encrypted office documents in Web Apps

Allow AIP encrypted (which had sensitivity labels applied) Office documents (word, excel, powerpoint, onenote, etc) and PDF files to be opened in the corresponding Office Web Apps.

  18. Footers being applied to several policies

On other classification technologies I have been able to apply or not apply footers to certain policies or groups but keep the same labels. With AIP, you are limited once you create a label to stick with the footer function if you want to use it all policies making it difficult to distribute to other use cases policies. This makes it difficult to keep consistency across the organization with base labels. I am now having to create sub labels called no footers to ensure they don't get the added footer which causes more confusion.

I recommend Microsoft come up with…

  19. Mail auto-labeling should inspect the mail subject

E-mails that contain sensitive info types in the subject line should be scanned and prompted for auto-classification (recommended or automatic).

We have identified a use case in our org around sensitive data in e-mails with a ticket number in the subject line and would like to allow the recommended auto-classification to scan/detect part or all of an info type in the subject line.

  20. Support standalone "Custom Permissions" action with Sensitivity Labels

To keep the classification and protection separated. i.e. user is able to manually select the "Custom Permission" option from Word, Excel and PowerPoint to do the protection of files; to be able to activate the "Custom Permission" popup box from the menu to allow flexibility of protecting files.

For your considerations, please. Thank you.
