Enable Office Mail Merge functions to apply classification to document and emails
Currently Mail Merge with mandatory classification, forces users to classify every single email that is sent by the mail merge, even when the users have correctly classified and saved the Word document template. This is causing our users to manually classify every single mail sent in a mailshot. Default classification won't help in the case that there's a requirement for a mailmerge to be a different classification. WE don't want to manage an operational overhead of having scoped groups with passphrases to get around the issue - please can you get AIP classifications working with mail merge.

Increase the number of file types that automatically get protected when attached to a protected email, beyond Office and PDF.
Currently, when you attach an unprotected Office document or PDF to an email, and then protect the email, the attachment inherits the protection. This should be expanded to include other file types.

Inherit the classification label during export operations (e.g. Save or Print as PDF)
When users export, save as or print (e.g. to pdf file) a document that has already a classification (or protection) label, the destination file should keep the same classification label and protection of the source file.

Detect tampering of labels
Enforce an anti-tampering mechanism (such as the client having a hash of the label and knowing if it was changed) and log centrally for reporting.

Allow users to change default label
Different people have different needs for the default label depending on their day to day job.( working in finance : default = confidential ; working in external communication default = unrestricted)
We liked that users can choose the better appropriate default label . If not possible apply default label to scoped policy (so to users groups).

Allow the use of images in Visual Marking
Integrate the possibility to use image-files (such as: gif, png or jpg) for labeling as footer, header or watermark. The would be a great feature for some customers, so it is possible to support the corporate identity with specific colours and embedded graphics.

Enable Get-AIPFileStatus /Set-AIPFileLabel on SPO libraries
Currently, it is not supported to excute Get-AIPFileStatus /Set-AIPFileLabel command on SPO libraries.
We would like to use these commands on SPO libraries the same as On-premises SPS.https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/azureinformationprotection/get-aipfilestatus?view=azureipps

Allow for formatting and hyperlinks in label descriptions
Provide functionality to allow for formatting and hyperlinks in an label description. This would allow for when a user hovers over a label in the toolbar, a clickable link is available to them - to take them to the organization's classification or GDPR compliance policy, for example.

Support for disconnected environments Unified Labeling and built-in sensitivity labels
In special customer scenarios, systems might be completely disconnected and not have direct or indirect access to the cloud service. This is supported in the AIP Classic client. We need an option to distribute the policy manually in the disconnected environment and for protection we need HYOK integration. To enhance the experience (compared to the classic client), bootstrapping the client automatically would really help.
Even if this is some kind of niche scenario, it might be important for many public sector or highly regulated customers.24 votes -

Dynamically re-classify a file after initial classification
Once we auto-classify a file and set a label/protection, we don't refresh/re-run the code to see if the existing label/protection still should apply to the file. As a result, I may have files that have markings that don't accurately apply to the current content of a file.
Please expose an option in the configurations to enable dynamic reclassification of a file during every save of the file, throughout it's lifecycle.
For example, if I have an auto-classification rule that looks for 3 entries of 'customer claim' and my file meets that rule, I get auto-classified upon saving the file. However,…

Prevent visual markings from causing page break lines in Excel spreadsheets
When a label places the visual marking on an excel spreadsheet, page breaks appear. Users find this disturbing and tedious to remove on each spreadsheet.
