  1. Prevent externals from changing the classification label of a document

    Consider the following, real world, scenario:

    • Alan works for Company X. Alan creates a Word document in his OneDrive and apply the label "Confidential".

    • Alan shares the document with Bill in Company Y via a document share in OneDrive. Alan allows Bill to edit the document.

    • Bill opens the document in Word.

    Bill sees Company X's confidential label information in the yellow bar. That's good. However, Bill can edit the document and change the classification of the document to one in Company Y's tenancy. That's bad. See the attached screenshot.

    Sensitivity labels applied by one organization don’t change the label applied by another organization, labels of different organizations are cumulative and don’t interfere with each other.
    If the document is protected, you can also prevent the other external user from applying a label by not granting them full control rights or rights that allow removing or changing protection.
