  1. Visual markings: allow custom markings to override MIP-set markings on per-document basis

Visual markings: allow custom markings to override MIP-set markings on per-document basis

Use a document property (or equivalent) that can be set in a document or doc-template (.dotx, etc) to block the label-defined visual markings (normally set by MIP) and which allows the user or the organization to set their own customized visual markings via e.g. "docProperty" field in the document; (this behaviour should be configurable to be blocked via GPO/Regkey/Intune, in case an organization doesn't want to allow marking-override by end-users).

  2. Include offending messages in alerts for "Suspicious email sending patterns detected" policy

When I receive an alert of the policies like "Suspicious email sending patterns detected", I would like to see some information about the messages that have triggered the alert. Subject line would be nice. Without this I cannot have discussions with the sender to correct the problem.

  3. Block upload to SharePoint due to sensitivity label mismatch

An auditable event is created when a file with a higher classification is created on a lower classification site, and an email is sent to the user to notify them of the mismatch. It is also possible to create a DLP policy to block access to a file by all but the user who uploaded it and site owner when a labeled file is uploaded to certain sites.

The issue is that in both actions, it still allows the file to successfully be stored in the site, and person who violated the policy still retains access to the file in…

  4. Allow label and protection of Stream videos

Videos that are saved into Stream may contain sensitive content and we need the ability to label and protect these files. Use cases include recordings of meetings that discussed a merger or human resources issue, recordings of tele health meetings etc.

  5. Enforce mandatory labeling for container labels in SharePoint sites

    Hello,
Please allow to remove "None" from user choice when selecting Sensitivity Label when creating new SharePoint site, else, if we enable solution and start using it for all company, then if user select "None", SharePoint site will be processed in a wrong way.

  6. Remove the links to AIP and 'Tell me More' at the bottom of a tooltip that appears when hovering over a label in UL client.

The links simply opens a page in Office Help that does not provide any information about AIP or Sensitivity labels. Consider instead allowing a customer-provided URL or the option of having the policy customerURL appear and able to be opened from here.

  7. Unified Labeling client - change "Help and Feedback" to "Learn More" and function consistently as Online, Mac, etc.

The link to the custom help page in the UL client should be reached by the same mechanism as the other implementations - with a "Learn More" button. Reached from a secondary window opened by "Help and Feedback" adds confusion and requires additional material and coverage in training.

  8. Enable logging in the OME webportal

It would be helpfull if we can log when and how people get their OME protected mails if they use the webportal.

  9. Allow inbound messages to an address to be autolabeled

We want inbound messages to our help desk mailbox to be autolabeled with a "Contoso Business Use Only" label (no encryption/protection), so if they are forwarded the label serves notice to recipients and persists. This would be useful in other use cases as well such as HR, Legal, GDPR privacy mailboxes, etc.

  10. Enable the use of Paste Special with link in protected document

to be able to paste information from Excel documents to Powerpoint, when the Excel document is with Sensitivity Labels applied, where the document is encrypted. Currently, the specific paste that cannot be done is to attach information from Excel as a link / image, where, once the Excel information is modified, it is reflected in Powerpoint

  11. Retain labels when saving as pdf

When a word/excel document, which already has a label, is "Saved As" pdf the new pdf document looses the classification label, however it is suggested that the new pdf file retains the same label as the parent word/excel document.

  13. Office Online allows copy/cut

The applied sensitivity label is set to NOT allow copy/cut of data within a document. This works as expected with Office desktop applications, but Office Online allows copying and cutting.

  14. Office Online print option greyed out

After applying a sensitivity label to a document, the print option is greyed out in Office Online.
Even if the sensitivity label is set to allow the logged in user to print.

  16. Add support for Outlook popup messages for warn/justify/block to Outlook on the web

Currently the pop-up messages in Outlook that warn, justify, or block emails being sent are not supported in Outlook on the web. This is a security gap when utilizing this functionality to control inappropriate sharing based on a sensitivity label. When enabling this functionality it should also be available at the service level of the label and work within Outlook on the web.

  18. Provide for multiline headers and footers for unified label

Provide multiple lines for text in content marking headers and footers in UL which were previously available in the classic Azure Information Protection label content markings. Alternatively allow special format characters such as new line in the text or better still support HTML5.

  20. Enable automated data classification

AIP should allow classification to be set via C# or VBA instead of requiring manual settings
