  1. AIP Viewer should remember size and position

AIP Viewer for Windows should remember size and position of the application when closed. I switched to it as my default pdf viewer and it always opens small (700 x 525 pixels) and centered. I would prefer that it remembered my last size and position of the window, as other pdf viewer do, including Edge.

  2. Display Classification Label for Image files in AIP Viewer

AIP Viewer should display the classification label applied on a JPG or image file on top header or bar. Otherwise it is difficult to identify if a JPG is classified or not.

  3. Bring back the "publish" button at the AIP portal

The two step workflow was much better than the actual direct publishing if we save a policy. I would like to modifiy my settings and discuss it with my colleagues before I make the rollout.

  4. Serverless execution of Protect-RMSFile/Unprotect-RMSFile

If exposed as a service in Azure, this could allow for more modern application/deployment frameworks. Authentication to the service should be possible using a certificate. Should allow for both RMS-template based protection as well as AdHoc

  5. Configuration of external IDaaS providers

Potential that third parties can be trusted based on Microsoft / O365, Yahoo or Gmail accounts, but would be beneficial to allow configuration over which are permitted, and to add any other IDaaS providers that are needed.

  6. Forced labeling with 1 click for speed

Allow the "Forced" labeling function to be configurable so you only click once, and dont have to click a second time to save or send.

  8. Option to disable the "Reset Settings" feature on endpoints

"Reset Settings" option causes registry keys such as Identity and DRM to be completely removed. These keys may contain specific connection settings like EnableADAL and DefaultServerUrl that determine how the client should connect to Azure. As a result, it causes issues for the client to authenticate. Therefore we would like to have an option to disable this feature on the endpoint (through a registry key or GPO) so users and support people cannot use it.

  9. Open Pictures in AIP Viewer in 100% zoom and fixation in the middle by default

Some business users work with huge picture files (12000 x 6750 px / 16:9 / 20MB). These find it inconvenient, that AIP Viewer doesn't open in 100% zoom and fixation in the middle of the picture by default.

  10. Show the zoom-factor in AIP Viewer

Our business users asked for a zoom-factor shown in AIP Viewer. Especially for picture files.

  12. Implement additional checks to prevent rogue applications being able to open protected content

Implement a more robust SDK and application verification process to prevent a rogue developer building an app to gain access to protected content and allow actions outside the provided permissions

  14. Different default sensitive labels on emails for internal recipients vs external

Suggest an option to change an outlook email default classification based on if the recipients are identified as internal users or external users. For example set the default label on all internal only recipient emails to "Internal Use Only", but if a non-internal (external) domain is a recipient, label the email as "Confidential". Allow the sender to override the default if they manually select a different classification.

  15. Allow user defined labels to be automatically applied at sharepoint site/onedrive

There is a limit of maximum 500 encryption labels. We have a client where we need encryption label per project (each defines own set of permissions), which means we might use up 500 labels very soon. A way around it is to use user defined permission labels. But there is not way to apply this automatically to a onedrive/sharepoint site. A way should be provided to apply this to a onedrive/sharepoint site, so any documents added to the site get this label. (with permissions defined as part of the automatic policy setup).

  16. Enhance Outlook "Confirmation Required" Pop-up so it shows all users and any attachments for context, and also support mail merge

Raising a feature request for Outlook "Confirm and Send" Outlook Pop-Up

    1. When OutlookWarnUntrustedCollaborationLabel is configured outlook shows "Confirm and Send" pop-Up, in the Pop-UP it only shows first 3 recipients . Show more than 3 /all the recipients in the Pop-up may be have collapsible + Icon which can be expanded to see all th recipient for whcih is Pop-Up is generated. (i.e. not displaying first three and then saying “and x more”).

    2. Also, if there is any attachment in the email display the attachment in the pop-Up as well along with recipients. (e.g., Warn users saying you are about…

  17. Control Fields that are included in the Logging in Log Analytics

We need more control over data that is being stored inside log analytics. For us it would be important to define, which fields are included in the logging and wich should be excluded. It would also be good to have some kind of pseudonymization for PII data.

  18. Add an "External User Allowance" to AIP licensing terms

Update AIP licensing terms to add an "External User Allowance" so external users can access AIP features that are licensed for internal users. We are currently planning to have MCAS apply AIP labels when a External user downloads a file on a non-compliant device. Unfortunately, because AIP licensing doesn't explicitly grant External user access we are told this will be a license violation. AIP should mimic the "External User Allowance" granted by MCAS and AAD Premium in the "Microsoft Online Services Terms".

  19. Add client powershell cmd to check/reset/remove add-ins

Add a cmdlet to the AIP client that will check the status of MSIP add-ins in each Office app, allow you to reset the status (enabled), and also disable an add-in in a specific app (ex: word). Do this in PS1 without having the user need to open the app and manage the COM add-in.

  20. Add read functionality to Security Reader roll in AIP or remove the role

When accessing AIP in the Azure Portal, and you don’t have an appropriate role – an error is displayed enumerating the roles which should give access. This lists Security Reader. But when you have that role, you are only allowed to browse the menus, and most blades show "You don't have one of the following Azure AD administrative roles: [...]"

Because of the first error, people request Security Reader role access but then when they have they complain they don't have the required (audit) access.
