As soon as you click into the search bar to bring up the search options, it covers those options with a drop down… Please put search back where it was or make it a fixed item (e.g., between View and Help)

Could you make the search bar moveable. All of our users are having difficulty spotting the change, and once they do they all ask if we can move it back to where it used to be and we have to tell them that it can't be done. If possible in future builds could the search be made to move between the spot where it is now above the top Ribbon to back where it used to be above the mail pane. Thanks for listening :)

Do you have actual data confirming if some users adopted any of the suggested searches - or other tools - placed in this annoying pop-up box? Everybody I know immediately maneuver to close it and use one of the more useful buttons hidden behind (such as "To"). It is now an automatic waste of time.
Most experienced Outlook users are therefore unaware of the content of this pop-up menu. You should check; its been around long-enough! When you realize how little it serves, hopefully you will stop punishing us all with it.
At the very least offer an option to cancel this pop-up window; or if you are still pushing it, allow users to reposition where it will show-up by default.

It is one of the worst invention by MS. MS is notorious with shoving "new ideas" down customers' throat, and this new Outlook search bar is another example. Why couldn't there be an option for users to choose whether or not we want this feature? Is it because MS programmers aren't knowledgeable enough to create an option, or is it because upper management decided all users must take it or leave it. Well thankfully i still have my Off 2013 license and i intend to cancel my Off365 subscription and use that license. Let's see what other good things MS can destroy. Stay tuned world
Move it back to where it was and it would be far superior to the completely broken widget we have now.
1. The Search Options are Covered Up
2. My Mail results get Covered Up
3. There is no Copy and Paste
4. It cannot search substrings: like finding "room" in "boardroom"
5. It takes many more clicks to perform any search

Someone clearly messed up at Microsoft.
Put the search bar back where it was before and do it now. Thank you.
I too want the Outlook Search back it it's logical place and a normal, simple search without all kind of totally useless features. I do doubt though that this will happen despite the thousands of complaints: right from the announcement in September 2019 and with the Insiders build, exactly the same complaints were given by almost everybody yet Microsoft ignored them all. So we should not be surprised if Microsoft will have a "Take it or leave it" attitude :(
Yep well vote on it here as well >_<
Seriously do you need 3000 people telling you it's a bad change to actually understand it's a bad change...
Leave designers out of the UX Meetings.
please put this back. There are 3000 votes for this in the outlook uservoice:
Agreed! Microsoft, please stop fixing things that are not broken

the old search permitted one to cut and paste into the search box
the new one does not
reinstating the ability to cut and paste will improve the user experience
