Outlook search on Office 365 is ineffective.
Old outlook searches worked well, but the current version doesn't return all emails that contain query terms. It makes outlook basically worthless. There have been numerous posts on this, but apparently no response/resolution. i have copied text from an email, dropped it in the search bar, and had that email be missed in the search. Please put a team on to fix this.
The new search is really terrible! The old one was customizable, faster and easy to use, even for not experienced users.
Please bring back the old function or make this customizable, like the old one.
I am so very sick of this function am thinking of going to google
I have been getting questions since this feature launched on how to change it back. Even people who asked near the beginning are coming back to me like "Any news on that search bar? It's really screwing up my day."
And I have to be all "no man sorry, Microsoft is staying silent on this matter, I'm sorry your work is taking so much longer but I am trying to reach someone to get an explanation"
New search gets blocked when connected to your pc via RDP, the RDP Connection bar covers the search field entirely.
Many times now I go to move my outlook window and open the search bar instead >_< I can move every other window from every other program with that spot of the menu bar EXCEPT Outlook now >_< WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS! :(
Takes MANY more clicks just to perform the same search. Extra clicks just to select a folder >_<
It covers up the advanced search controls which is something the old search never did...
Like Copy And Paste doesn't even work for crying out loud, How obvious are you trying to make it that this change WAS NOT TESTED... AT ALL internally.
I thought Microsoft was all about eating their own dog food but all their users must still be on Office 2016 Perpetual Licenses because obviously they never tested this change in house.

The new search covers up the "Subject", "To" buttons that made it easier to complete your search syntax. See screenshot: https://sharex.delpach.com/2020/06/20200618_4a2cAEXLac.gif
How did Microsoft not see this while implementing?
It is on a totally wrong place - at least move it more to the right hand side so that the search assistant buttons do not get covered up?
This new search is horrible. The old one could be configured well and the options available were perfect. Now I spend as much time finding an email as scrolling down in my 6600 emails inbox. Please bring back the old function or make this customisable like the old one was.
Outlook search has been a poor feature from the days out look was invented. to this day it still lacking. for example you search for certain word in an email you get way too many hits its as if it finding every single letter in the word you are searching for. make no sense. then when you do find the email and single click to highlight that email. it disappears after you close the search you have to double click on it to open
New search has no option to search shared calendar appointments. I looked through all the advanced search options and there is no solution. I have customers that have access to many shared Dr. calendars and they need to be able to search those shared calendar appointments. in the previous search build this option worked well and very quickly. however now with this option gone staff is unable to properly manage dr appointments and clients.

My problem is the same. Please try to fix it. We love the old one version. Searching function is useful and accurate.

The same observation.
Right-click – „Find all relates messages from sender" is not working properly.
Searches for a number of records, but when I use the search frame and the "From" command, it finds a different number (real). I created a new index register about 5 times but did not help.
Also, „search - search tools - advanced search – contacts“ doesn't work properly in the same way.
In Outlook 2016 it worked fine for me. Issue occured just in 365 version. I did all the repairings (PST, profile, etc.) with MS support team but nothing has helped.
