  2. Exclude spscific folders from Outlook Search

I would like to remove the "Trash" folder that my email provider uses as Deleted Items from Outlook Search.

As I use Search to clean my Inbox and delete emails, Search finds them in the "Trash" folder before I get a chance to fully delete them.

  3. Outlook search bar

This should be a choice per user to keep original view or new current view.. word and excel have option to turn it off but Outlook doesn’t, viewing should option should be included as a choice rather then just on or off..

  4. Revert back to old Search format

WHY did you move the search bar? The new location is very inconvenient and hinders efficiency - not to mention the aggravation it causes. In addition to that, now you can no longer copy/paste with the mouse!! That just adds to the inefficiency by making you have to use the keyboard and disrupting the flow of your work.
Please either move the search bar back to the old location or make it possible to move it with the customization option.
Also, when typing in the search field, it used to automatically start searching based on the text, now you have…

You recently changed the search function in Outlook. Now you can no longer right-click to paste.
Plus, you don't automatically see your recent searches.
Can these two functions be returned?

  6. Detect hyphen or underscore separated words

When using the bing-powered "work" search, I cannot find files whose names are separated with hyphens or underscores. For example, assume I have three files named "MY FILE", "THIS_FILE", and "THAT-FILE". If I type into the search box FILE then only the first one, named "MY FILE", will appear.

This is frustrating since some systems don't support spaces easily.

  7. Include the same customization capability that has always been in SharePoint search.

For years we have had the ability to successfully customize SharePoint search with managed properties, crawl rules, query rules, result sources, it goes on and on. With MS Search you have taken that flexibility away. So now half of our tenant gets one search experience and the other half (Modern sites) get what they get. Put the two together with full functionality or give us an option to use classic search in Modern sites. It's getting really frustrating explaining to users that a Best Bet is now a Promoted Result or it could be a Bookmark depending on where you…

  8. Q&A: usage of registered keywords to Q&As in search results

If the editors added keywords to the published Q&As and several Q&As share the same keyword, then it would be useful to search for this keyword from end user perspective and get all published Q&As with this keyword as search result and not only one Q&A (present behavior)

  9. Move Outlook Search Box

The latest version of Outlook 365 forces the Search Box to appear in the Title Bar. Looks clunky and hard to move the window. It would be good if users had the option to move this to where it used to be (just above emails).

  10. outlook search not working right

when i search outlook the results did not come up. Your tech support helped me and the guy gave the following reason:- "Sometimes, when the Outlook is trying to finish the sync process, which is run frequently to keep your mailbox updated, the search function could be delayed a bit."
    my response was as follows:-
"ok I suppose I will just need to give it more time if it happens again but it was strange that I could see the june invoice email in that folder and it wasn't coming up on the search. I think this is an issue…

  11. Index Microsoft Office Tags as metadata

Microsoft Office files allows you to add tags to a document from the document information panel. You can also view and update the tags column in File Explorer. However, if the document is saved to SharePoint Online, the tags content is not indexed by Microsoft Search.

It would be useful for this text to be indexed and also to support searching on this attribute (e.g. where tags contains 'proposal')

  12. Acronyms not appearing in search

Acronyms not appearing in search. I can easily add Acronyms to Microsoft Search admin, but after waiting three weeks, I still do not get results when I search an acronym in Bing.

  15. outlook search

As soon as you click into the search bar to bring up the search options, it covers those options with a drop down… Please put search back where it was or make it a fixed item (e.g., between View and Help)

  16. Outlook search option is terrible. I used to have functionality when I clicked in the search box, that the icons changed and i could instant

new Outlook search location and functionality is horrible.
Yes, please note Outlook search option is now terrible.
I used to have functionality when I clicked in the search box, that the icons changed and i could instantly click attachments or other options. now I have to drop down an options box make more selections and then hope. Why or how on earth is more clicking through easier and efficient ? The position of the search is now disjointed from the mail folder. Are we trying to turn this into google mail ?

  17. In Outlook search results, can you please tell me what mailbox the item came from?

It can be hard to tell what mailbox an item is in because if you go to the file->current folder, the mailbox is not listed. It just says "contacts" for example. I have 4 or 5 mailboxes in my Outlook, so I have no idea which contacts folder it is talking about.

  18. Outlook search terms should not erase when changing folders or mailboxes

Can you please make the search terms in the "search at top" feature survive a folder or mailbox change? That way I can search in various folders and mailboxes without having to re-type the terms.

  20. Provide option to remove/relocate "SEARCH" field from title bar of Outlook window.

There is plenty of wasted space in Outlook GUI, but placing a live SEARCH field in the middle of the window title bar defeats the purpose of having something to move, select, or drag the window with. If the user has multiple windows open, the title bar gets more narrow and having the SEARCH feature fill that space makes it difficult to 'grab' the window to move it or to dock it to one side of the screen. Word, Excel, and other Office apps have the ability to collapse this; provide the same for Outlook.
