Microsoft Search

  1. outlook search

As soon as you click into the search bar to bring up the search options, it covers those options with a drop down… Please put search back where it was or make it a fixed item (e.g., between View and Help)

  2. Allow acronym searches to work by only entering the abbreviation

The new Answers/Acronym search function in SharePoint Online appears to require the user to phrase their search as a question, like "What is ABC" - and searching "ABC" by itself does not work. Please allow users to enter abbreviations as a single-word search query.

  3. Make Forms a searchable object on the Forms portal

Please make forms the primary objects returned / an object that can be returned as a search result when using the search bar on the O365 forms site.

It seems only logical for someone using the search bar built in to the Forms site to want to have Forms that match the search return as a search result.

  4. Move Outlook Search Box

The latest version of Outlook 365 forces the Search Box to appear in the Title Bar. Looks clunky and hard to move the window. It would be good if users had the option to move this to where it used to be (just above emails).

  6. Outlook search on Office 365 is ineffective.

Old outlook searches worked well, but the current version doesn't return all emails that contain query terms. It makes outlook basically worthless. There have been numerous posts on this, but apparently no response/resolution. i have copied text from an email, dropped it in the search bar, and had that email be missed in the search. Please put a team on to fix this.

  7. Microsoft is updating Office to make Bing the Default Search Engine in Chrome!!?

Is this a joke? How is this even legal. This will confuse people, inconvenience everyone, and cost our company money.

Beginning with Version 2002 of Office 365 ProPlus, Microsoft will install a browser extension that makes Bing the default search engine for Google Chrome, providing the benefits of Microsoft Search in the browser to those end users.
    • This browser extension is scheduled to be available in Monthly Channel (Targeted) in February 2020.
    • It is expected to be released to Monthly Channel in early March 2020.
    • It will be included in the upcoming releases for Semi-Channel (Targeted) and…

  8. Floorplan Search also in Microsoft Search in Office 365?

    The Floorplan
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/manage-floorplans
is only searchable in Microsoft Search in Bing, but not in Office 365 or SharePoint Online. Also not clickable in People Profile Cards in Microsoft 365. Inconsistent UX!

  9. Consistency on displaying Title vs Filename in Search Results

Search is critical to a successful intranet. Now that we are using modern search in SharePoint / Microsoft 365, we have lost functionality that has been in the product for years. The key element that is missing is consistency in how document type results are displayed. SharePoint has always displayed the “Title” attribute of a file (if present) as the clickable item in search results. If no title attribute existed, it would display the file name. File names are typically not as readable or as user friendly as titles. Being able to specify a title gives the content owner on…

  10. Provide option to remove/relocate "SEARCH" field from title bar of Outlook window.

There is plenty of wasted space in Outlook GUI, but placing a live SEARCH field in the middle of the window title bar defeats the purpose of having something to move, select, or drag the window with. If the user has multiple windows open, the title bar gets more narrow and having the SEARCH feature fill that space makes it difficult to 'grab' the window to move it or to dock it to one side of the screen. Word, Excel, and other Office apps have the ability to collapse this; provide the same for Outlook.

  12. Outlook search option is terrible. I used to have functionality when I clicked in the search box, that the icons changed and i could instant

new Outlook search location and functionality is horrible.
Yes, please note Outlook search option is now terrible.
I used to have functionality when I clicked in the search box, that the icons changed and i could instantly click attachments or other options. now I have to drop down an options box make more selections and then hope. Why or how on earth is more clicking through easier and efficient ? The position of the search is now disjointed from the mail folder. Are we trying to turn this into google mail ?

  13. Allow bookmarks to be scoped

Scoped so you can decide if they should appear on all search results - such as when searching sites in SPO. Or the default behavior, when searching at the organizational level

  15. Please add New Zealand as a region in the Admin centre - region settings

NZ is missing as a region setting. If we expect our NZ empoyees to adopt SharePoint Online, being able to make NZ content more relevant would help.

  16. Re-insert the Search bar for Microsoft Forms

There are two different types of search bars...the general search bar and the forms sear bar. The search for Forms is the one I'm talking about. You've taken it out. I use(d) Forms exclusively for all my testing and quizzing needs, and therefore have over 200 tests and quizzes. How do I go about finding a particular quiz if I can't search for it, nor is there any folders, nor is it in alphabetical order. Please replace the search bar so I can find my forms, please? By the way, classes started yesterday, so I need them starting then if…

  17. Best suggesting Tool for MBOX to Office 365 Migration

Download a useful solution MailsDaddy MBOX to Office 365 Migration Tool to easily import the MBOX file database into Office 365 and Live Exchange Server account. 18. Allow adminstrators to manage Microsoft Search through PowerShell and APIs

While the search adminstration tasks all have import and export options, they currently require an administrator to sit in front of the admin center and complete them manually. As far as I can tell there are no PowerShell modules or REST APIs that allow you to update things like bookmarks, acronyms Q&As and locations programatically. Please add these options in order to allow us to automate some parts of the management.

  19. allow scoping or and categorizations when entering acronyms

we have a large number of different companies in our tenant, in which certain acronyms / abbreviations have a different meaning. it would be nice if a scope or a cathegory could be assigned when entering / maintaining the acronyms, which would allow the user to differentiate in the results display.

  20. Outlook Search by Date and Select All

There are Search by Date fields in the advanced search, but they do nothing unless you add another keyword in your search. People need to be able to Search by Date only. Typical MS reply is that it's by design. Please fix this an allow the search fields to actually return results when dates are entered without any other keywords. Also please provide a clearly identified "select all" results option and not just select the first 75 results when clicking the icon in the upper left corner. None of that is intuitive to the end user that you have to…
