Microsoft Skype for Business does not retain saved audio settings when more than one audio input and/or output device exists
My Windows 10 Dell PC has two USB-based microphones (Skype is configured to use one of them). For audio output, my PC has one traditional 3.5mm audio output port and two DisplayPort adapters with their own audio outputs. Skype is configured to use one of the DisplayPort adapter's audio outputs. Even though my PC is configured to keep its USB-based ports alive during any power-saving activity Skype for Business, oftentimes when I start Skype for Business, it does not switch to the saved "PC Microphone and Speakers" option. Instead, it switches to "Speakers Only". A Microsoft support representative said Microsoft's Product Development Team said this behavior was "by design". GoTo Meeting and other screen-and-voice-sharing software do not behave this way. When a user saves their audio configuration within Skype for Business, Skype for Business should always save the user's choose and not switch to another audio configuration profile.
