Unlock user account
Unlock the user account when the user locked himself after entering the wrong password

We are interested in understanding this feature request better. Is this functionality available somewhere else within Office 365?

you can try a free SecureMFA SSPR Portal which has most enterprise SSPR features and allows users to make Self-service password reset, change and unlock Active Directory accounts. Free version will support multiple AD Directories , High availability , MFA authentication , Change/Reset honours Active Directory password history and complexity policies. Free version is limited to 24 users. For more details https://www.securemfa.com/downloads/mfa-sspr

This is true. Please have a dedicated team to handle account recovery for consumer accounts similar to the team handling the business account. Some of the users only have the MS account to house their subscriptions and not for exchanging of emails.

Azure AD needs a button instantly and easily unlock a user account which has been locked from too many missed attempts.
It is extremely awkward helping people who have locked themselves out via the web mail portal or in one instance a user changed their login password when requested, but mis-entered their password in Outlook and locked themselves out through multiple retries. The periodic attempts by Outlook kept their account locked out. The user knew their password and all they needed was the account unlocked but unlike local Active Directory, in Azure I could not simply check the account for "User has been locked out due to multiple attempts.." and uncheck it. This would be a huge benefit to admins.

We currently have an older ERP deployment that has a dual logon. First domain access second erp permissions. We always get users locking out their accounts due to this, mainly the newer employees, and always seems to happen when I am not in the office. We just started an o365 migration last week and had a user locked out this morning. Was actually surprised this wasn’t available.

In case the O365 team is still unclear - This request applies in a hybird environment, where on-prem AD accounts are synced with AzureAD, and password write-back is enabled.
When a user logging into a computer or otherwise authenticating against on-prem AD enters the wrong password multiple times, their AD account becomes 'locked out' for a period of time, preventing them from logging in even with the correct password. Users commonly call the helpdesk to have their account unlocked, but do not need or want their password to be reset.
In a hybrid environment, the Office 365 Admin mobile app should allow an admin to unlock a user account without resetting the password. To my knowledge there is no way currently to unlock an on-prem AD account from Office 365. However, the feature does exist as part of AzureAD self-service password reset. An end user can access the SSPR site, verify their identity, and unlock their on-prem AD account without having to reset their password.
