Problems with retention labels operational logic
Hi there,
I started reading the documents about retention labels and already disliked two characteristics very, very much - and they will keep people using the old records management method. This is what I understood:
a) ANY user with edit permissions (contribute) can "unlock" a record and edit a file or its metadata - but there is no permission level to supress such ability. This is the worst scenario, since records are to be unmutable, not versioned.
b) When a user "unlocks" and then changes a record, it is copied to the "Preservation hold library". This means that, besides something…

Usage of email space report.
It would be great if an admin user was able to see which of his users have exhausted 90% space of his/her mailbox. As of now the user is alerted but many times the user ignores the alerts or has left the organization which may lead to failure in delivery of incoming messages. Hence please add a report for viewing mailbox utilized space.

Allow Office365 labels to reference external data for retention trigger, e.g. BCS
In SharePoint we can reference an external data source for a retention trigger, using BCS (Business Connectivity Services). This would allow us to trigger a retention event based on some external event such as the date an employee leaves the company. Apparently this is not possible now with Office365 policies/labels, but I think it would be a very useful feature.

Labels need Order By Setting for UI
Currently Labels are grouped by retention period. We have many divisions and departments, each with their own different legal nuances. Therefore, our labels are grouped by division. Having the ability to order labels by Alpha would be very helpful

Show Shared Mailbox archives in the Records Management dashboard
In the Archive section of the dashboard, it currently only shows users who have archives in place. Can we also add shared mailboxes into this same view?

I would like a function for IT alerts, so that user will be notified if their mailbox get granted full admin rights
I tried to set an alert so when a user's mailbox get full access granted, user will receive an email informing this has happened. currently, only administrator will get an alert when addmailboxperssion is granted. but we think it's good user should get an email also. However, this is not available in o365, and I couldn't find a get around to achieve the goal

Warning Pop-up when creating automated policies when labels are not published
There should be an informative note in the S&C center, that would pop up when you would want to Auto-Apply labels, simply stating “Please note that you need to have a Label Published to the desired locations, in order for the auto apply to work.
Applying a label automatically that is not published to that specific site is unsupported and leads to unexpected behaviour

PST Network upload provide better reporting after analysis phase completes
Often when collecting PST files from users during mergers, we have multiple users who have PST files with the same name that get uploaded into subfolders in the Azure upload area. However, if the PST file is corrupt, there's no way to see which account or the full Azure URI associated with the corrupt PST file, only the filename. You are storing that information somewhere (I'm guessing there is an Ingestion Table somewhere based on the audit log entries associated with the imports that the GUI kicks off) because it shows in the report you can download once the migration…

OneDrive Retention
Microsoft recommended using the retention for keeping files safe and restore-able in case and the employee decided to harm the files and remove from all recycle bins.
So I made a policy to keep files for about 10 years after deletion but I was not able to reach the retention folder until I called Microsoft.
I have been told to add "/PreservationHoldLibrary/Forms/AllItems.aspx" to the OneDrive link to be able to reach the folder and then it was really bad to see that the files name are changed which will cause so much troubles restoring it...
For example text.txt become test_070A286E-3A53-4671-8368-B8CB8EC...... …1 vote -
You should add another option to remove the item from the disposition list
If a document has expired but you want to undo this expiration, you can remove the retention label, but the document will still show up in the disposition review list. This means there is no way to undo the retention after an item has expired. If a mistake was made there should be a mechanism to both remove the retention label and take the item off the disposition list as opposed to extending or relabeling it. For example, under Relabel, include a null option or remove label that removes the item from the list and removes the label on the…

Support for multi-values in Asset ID in event-driven retention
When using event-driven retention, users apply a label (that's tied to an event type) and an Asset ID to documents. I believe right now only a single value can be entered into Asset ID. Is there any plans to support multiple Asset ID's (i.e. make Asset ID a multi-value field)?

Specifying ReviewerEmail for Delete action fails with error message
The ReviewerEmail field specifies the email address of a reviewer for Delete and KeepAndDelete retention actions. However when specified for a Delete action the following error message is generated: Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Transport.ErrorParsingCSVException: Validation failed in the provided CSV at row 1 column "ReviewerEmail". Error: ReviewerEmail can only be applied when retention action is KeepAndDelete.
1 votethanks – we understand you are asking for disposition review for delete only policies. Looking for more feedback from the community on this one.

Fix Month Calculations in Retention Settings
We tried to set up a compliance rule for 73 months or a full 6 years plus one month. After setting up the rule it showed up as 6 years only or 2190 days. Found out from support that a month is calculated at 30 days and therefore over 6 years you lose a full month in calculated days when using the month option. I believe that an item marked for deletion on 1/1/2020 and retained for 73 months should be deleted 2/1/2026 instead of 1/1/2026.
