  2. Auto-run queries and auto-save files

Allow specified queries to run at a pre-determined time every day and send an email notification if there are any hits on the word search. And, automatically save an audit file to a specific drive.

  3. Improve UI for Preservation Policies

Manually entering Site URLs is tedious and error prone. We need a way to query for URL to produce a list within the UI or possibly externally using PS and importing the resulting list of Sites.

Another possible implementation might be a similar wizard used in Workflow Manager to install and configure (i.e. a intake form that generates PowerShell)

  4. Enable the option to find emails between one sender and one recepient - ONLY

Hi, I recently had to do a eDiscovery search end export emails that should have contained only emails exchanged between two persons, with no one else in the exchange.

So case when user1 is sender and user2 is only recipient and case when user2 is sender and user1 is only recipient. In each case I wanted to have only them in search results. But it seems to be impossible to perform this query, and I was returned results with others in TO/CC/BCC.

Only way to do this (had MS Premier support work with me on this) is to export search…

  5. Highlight violating Sensitive Type in eDiscovery or content search

A search will highlight discovered keywords, but not Sensitive Types in a search.

  6. Ability to name exchange mailboxes the name of the ediscovery search

When you export PSTs from Office 365 Compliance Center (all mail in one folder in one PST) the name of the mailbox as it appears in Outlook when opened is "Exchange" the name of the mailbox should be the name of the search. This would allow reviewers in Law departments to review multiple PSTs in their Outlook without the confusion of having multiple "Exchange" mailboxes in their left-hand menu.

  8. Retrieve and review Teams voice mails via Advanced eDiscovery

Teams voice mails, and their transcription, are delivered to the users mailbox as MP3 and thus archived.

When using Advanced eDiscovery, the voice mail can be searched and found using the Search tool, but when adding to a Review set you get a metadata error. Neither the transcription or the MP3 is retrievable.

When using Core eDiscovery you can see the transcription but not listen to the MP3. You can however download the entire message, which includes the MP3 and listen to it outside of the ediscovery tool.

At the minimum advanced ediscovery should mirror core ediscovery and allow for…

  10. Search custodian by employee ID

In Advanced eDiscovery we would like the ability to search for custodians by employee ID. There are many employees with similar names and it's time consuming to have to lookup their email and then come back to the portal.

  12. Allow suffix matching in content search

It would be nice to be able to use suffix matching in the content search. One scenario this would be useful in is discovering who received a malicious attachment in the form of "USERNAME_scan.doc"

  13. Expand search permissions filtering to Public Folders

At the moment "Search permissions filtering can't be used to limit who can search public folders in Exchange". As a multinational we need to delegate eDiscovery permissions for Exchange Online to various countries. If we give these delegated admins any eDiscovery rights they can automatically search any Public Folders globally which is a show stopper though.

Please expand *-ComplianceSecurityFilter options to include Public Folders.

    Thanks, Ryan.

  14. Force specifying at least one location when creating a Hold

Currently you have the ability to create a hold without specifying a location. While this does happen on accident at times it can also lead to the thought that a hold can be created with a query only and would stretch across the entire tenant which is not the case. This is true for both Core and Advanced eDiscovery.

  15. When it will be possible using eDiscovery to restore the entire folder with emails inside

I was wondering if from Microsoft side, there is an ETA when using eDiscovery it will be possible to restore the entire folder with emails inside, rather just the emails.

  16. Add the Ability for users to Archive rather than delete in Office 365

We need to ability for end users to be able to search all mail and also any deleted messages as well. We have litigation hold turn on for all mailbox however once a user deletes and empties the message they lose all access to it and it requires a eDiscovery to find it. We want the users to do their searches. We are looking for a way to either prevent the user from deleting any mail from their mailbox or have it archive rather than delete.

  17. Delete an eDiscovery case after custodians released and case is closed

After applying custodian hold, you cannot delete an eDiscovery case even if the custodians are released or the case is closed. This has been advised by Microsoft as being by design but it means that you will have an ever increasing number of eDiscovery cases that are no longer relevant.

  18. New eDiscovery UI Bulk Export Item Count Bug

The new eDiscovery interface allows you to select multiple searches and export them together. It has been found that when performing this bulk export, you will not receive the sum of the individual search results. For example, when exporting five (5) searches individually, I receive a total of 126,000 search results, which matches the estimated search results for each search. Upon bulk exporting the same five (5) searches, I only received a total of approximately 100,000 search results.

  19. Support SharePoint list column recovery

We found there is no any audit log for a user deleted a list column and also not able to recover it via the in-place hold. And we need to open case to MS to restore the list. However, the list recover not include permission recovery. I think MS need to address this issue to fulfill the compliance requirement.

  20. notify user of completed tasks

send alerts when user actions have been completed. ie, when "add to review set" is complete, email the user who requested the action so we can continue with our internal process.
