Retention Policy - Office 365 Groups - Separate Deletion settings for Exchange & SharePoint workload
Retention Policies for Office 365 Groups currently treat all resources the same (i.e. Exchange and SharePoint). We need the ability to configure email items to delete after X years, but not delete documents stored on SharePoint.
Another of those "Seems crazy that this isn't how it is by default" features. Definitely needed.
In our case the policy assigned to one and only one SPO site scans Exchange and deletes emails with sensitive info too.
For regulated companies there are different deletion timeframes for emails and documents. A Policy that covers both with only one period will not ensure compliance.

We are looking to define separate retention/deletion policies to the different components of a unified group. The ability to manage retention at a granular level for the mailbox, SharePoint, Stream, etc.
