Retention Labels - Time Left - Report all files with label
Hi,
Would it be possible to have a report system or dahsboard, which would report on Time left of the retention period for all items or even just files that have a particualar label applied that the user has created.
For example. A calculated column that shows the item, location, retention/deletion, time remaining before it happens, based on whether it was, either labeled, created, last modifed. (hope it makes sence)
Currently you have to use the 'content search' area [search and investigation] and do the calculations there within excel on any given report.
see the post here for some more info:

Will

Is this something a Power BI dashboard could get from SharePoint?

I would also like to see this functionality. In essence a report(s) to show Destruction Eligibility of content (e.g. data approaching its destruction date) and a Destruction (e.g. data that has been destroyed - to provide evidence of compliance).

In the classic view a document which is declared as a record is shown with a lock. I would like to see the same functionality for the modern view. Probably this is possible with the conditional formatting options, but I would like to see this as default.
When a document is declared as a record and a user edits the document in Office Web Apps, it looks site the document is being saved (in the top middle it's actually says the document is saved). Changes are not being saved. This can be confusing for end users.
So please make if visually clear when a document is declared as a record and/or cannot be changed due to a Label or Policy

Looking for end user notification when data governance deletion policies are applied to content. A visual indication within document similar to SharePoint on premises information management policy banner. It states that a policy is applied to the content, describes the policy (for example: A retention policy of deletion ten years after the last modified date has been applied to this content.) and indicates when the policy is met (for example: Expires on 8/21/2027).

Working in a UK Government department that is going to have to come to terms with the challenges of digital review of records it would be really beneficial to have the view described by Tom that shows upcoming dispositions which shows the date the content is due to expire

Now that the 'Dispositions' dashboard has been created (which is great by the way) that has views for 1) content that has expired that needs to be actioned & 2) a report of past dispositions, could we address Will's requirement here with a 3rd view that shows 'Upcoming dispositions' which would display the date the content is due to expire, again with some of the same filters that are available on the other views you have created.

I agree with Will too, but I wouldn't necessarily want a dashboard within the security and compliance centre, as Tom suggests, as checking when a document is due to be deleted is not a role for Admin and we wouldn't want to give others access to Security and Compliance. We see reviewing deletion dates as a job for a team site admins or the owner of a document.

I see that the 'Compliance Details' page is now available from the item context menu in the new library UI via Item --> More --> Compliance Details. This shows what labels is applied to the item but not the time that remains and action that will apply to the item, could these details be added to this screen possibly?

I agree with Will but I think this information should be presented on a dashboard within the security and compliance centre itself. Some kind of 'drill-down' dashboard showing label applied, date remaining and also the action that will occur once the date is reached is critical information that administrators will need
