Ability to perform eDiscovery collections for specific Outlook Folders
I have a requirement from a large customer (85K users) that needs to be able to perform eDiscovery collections for specific Outlook folders. We can do date range and Full Mbx collections, but not specific folders. This was possible on-premises, but not in Exchange Online ????
Cmdlets available for specific folder collections (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/use-content-search-for-targeted-collections?view=o365-worldwide) and UI version is on the backlog.
Same goes if you want to exclude folders... you would have to iterate the subfolders. For example, let's say i want to exclude the Deleted Items folder. If I use the FolderID to exclude it, what happens when a user then moves an entire folder into deleted items. It won't exclude that subfolder.
@Nick Robinson - The cmdlets won't work for this if the collection doesn't include the subfolders within the identified folderID. Too limiting. What if a legal hold custodian moves an entire folder of email into the designated folder. With the folderID it won't collect that folder or subitems.

Would like to have the option to do a "Search for deleted FOLDERS and/or mails", not just a creteria like Keywords etc....

+1 for the ability to exclude a folder in eDiscovery. Certain data protection laws require this.
same here, folder inclusion and exclusion would be beneficial for collections. whether by search filtering folders in the mailbox.
Ditto for this requirement - we ask custodians to put responsive emails in a particular folder. We got through great pains to then collect the folder.

We have the same problems. We receveid requirements for specific folder, and we are not able to send that specific information.
Sometimes the size of the folder make impossible to open it.
It will be very useful to have the option to download a specific folder and apply the filters need it.

Would also be nice that deleted items by users going in the Purge or Recoverable items before that keeps the folder structure or the ability to restore to its previous position.

This is a major disappointment for our Legal department as they were accustomed to requesting specific folder collections prior to 365, and now that capability has been taken away. To provide a specific folder requires us to take a number of manual steps that increase the risk of mistakes in a critical, sensitive process. Please bring back this important function!
