  1. Customize Group Expiration Email

Allow tenants to customize/add text to the bottom of the Group Expiration email. Benefits include things such as being able to provide a link to users for more information, specify that they should be reviewing membership of the group as well or other relevant info specific for their company/tenant.

  2. Granular delegation and/or approval of group creation

The current state of GroupCreationEnabled in OWA mailbox policies makes it hellacious to delegate or control who can create groups. Customers should be able to easily delegate group creation to admins or "trained" users.

Currently this requires customers to "fork" their OWA mailbox policies, just to have a container on which to set GroupCreationEnabled to true. Then it become VERY difficult to manage as OWA mailbox policies are not "inherited"--any future change to corporate policies has to be deployed across multiple OWA mailbox policies.

Better yet, a group creation request form, with "approval" delegated.

Thanks for the feedback. We’re addressing this feedback by promoting the ability to manage group membership into Active Directory. In the near future, an admin can identify a security group that includes the users allowed to create Office 365 Groups form all endpoints. Then you can manage the membership in that security group as any other security group in your organization.

Note that the initial configuration to identify the group will be done in powershell.

  3. Hide Groups

Please give us the option to hide the Groups section altogether on the email login page - I'm sure it's a nice feature for some, but there's some of us out here who don't and won't use the Groups feature, so it's annoying to always have to hide in upon logging in.

Thanks for the feedback. We have made changes in OWA and Outlook such that if a user doesn’t want to view their groups or not want to use the groups, they can collapse the Groups node in the left navigation panel. And it will stay collapsed unless the user opens it again, it is saved across reboots and app restart.
Overall feedback about reducing the clutter is a valid feedback, and we will take this into account as we think about simplifying the overall experience.

  4. Prevent or restrict users from expanding moderated distribution groups in Office 365

We currently have a main org distribution group all@corp.com that is moderated to prevent users from sending to the group. In Office 365 or Outlook 2016 for Mac, users can select the distribution group and click expand, then individually email everyone in the distribution group which is what we are trying to prevent. I spoke with support who said this feature is not currently available and there is no mention of it on the update road map in the near future. Support suggested posting here to have my user voice be heard. Please provide a way to prevent or restrict…

  6. smtp alias

Microsoft tells us to use the new Office 365 Groups instead of distribution groups, but the new Office 365 groups doesn't have the functionality to add email aliases as distribution groups allows me to do. Sometimes I need to add aliases just to be sure that also misspelled or variants of an email address gets through. Add this simple function please!

  7. Remove {User} Joined the team

We need the ability to turn off the messages in the teams General Channel when a user joins the team.
I added everyone in our org to an org team, and the general channel is filled with "{User} Joined the team"

  9. Groups should be hidden from the GAL by default

Due to the fact that is no proper validation in group names apart from suffix/prefix, the GAL is now an inconsistent mess. By default, all groups should be hidden from the GAL where admins can upon request based on the nature of the group< can un-hide them.
    Thanks

  11. Allow Creation of Naming Policy for O365 Groups

Allow Administrators to set naming policy that applies to O365 Groups only, and not all groups. This will allow more organizations to better mange groups and open up more self-service. One idea is ability to have year group was created attached to title of group. For example "O365-(Group name/Project/Department) -Year(year created)" This will allow for yearly review of groups and maintenance.

  12. Saving documents (Word, Excel) directly to an Office 365 Group without the Group being synced.

Right now, we can only save documents to synced Groups. Or the workaround is to save somewhere, then manually upload to the Group.

  13. Make Shared Mailbox features, particularly Calendar, available to mobile app users.

Mobile apps are very limited that way.You can see the Shared Mailbox Calendar in Outlook. You can connect and see in a desktop browser OWA session. You can see the Shared Mailbox Inbox from the OWA mobile app, but you cannot see the Shared Mailbox Calendar from the OWA mobile app.

  14. Allow end-users add multiple members to a group

Allow end-users (non-admins / non-pwrshell) to add multiple members, in bulk, to their Office 365 group. I was told that multiple members could be added with a simple comma between the email addresses. However, after testing, this doesn't seem to be the case. Apart from a user having to type each email address and pressing enter manually between each, end-users don't seem to be able to paste a list of users to add to a group and have it parse & add them. Honestly, it's a bit unrealistic for a user to do this with 400 users on their list.…

  15. Reply as group address in Outlook

Currently in order to be able to reply a message using the group email address instead of the user's, several steps have to be performed:

    • Grant access to every user in the group using Powershell (Add-RecipientPermission -Identity $recp.Name -Trustee $user -AccessRights SendAs)

And then the users have to do, everytime, for every email they reply:
    - Dettach the reply window to open a new one with full capabilities
    - Click on 'From:' button
    - Select the group email address.

This scenario should be enhanced to:
    - Enable SendAs rights to the group so users inherit the behaviour of the group…

  17. Move/Copy E-Mails from mailboxes to Office365 Group conversations

We would like to copy E-Mails to an Office365 group to have a history of group related E-Mails which happend before group creation.
Forwarding the E-Mails to the groups e-mail adress is working but you are losing the timestamp of the original mail.

  18. Add Group Categorization or Group Tags AND let us cluster groups by category

The groups list in the left pane is just one long list. I'd like to add a tag to each group (basically group metadata) so I can click little flyouts/dropdowns that help visually navigate all the groups.

  19. Add or delete appointment or event on Group calendar in Outlook 2016 without sending email to group members. This is possible on 365 online.

There are times when I want to put in my travel information on the calendar function, for example, so I do not need this to be an appointment where I invite everyone in the group. The online platform allows you to "uncheck" the box "send invitation to the group", which solves this problem, but on Outlook 2016, you cannot do this, it always sends an invitation. This could be fixed.
