Create new group from template and/or existing group
To ensure consistent Groups across the organization, be able to create a new group from an existing group, keeping the structure (Navigation/sub-sites, Library folders, Notebook sections, Planner buckets..) without the content/documents
296 votesWe’re considering what it would take to support this feature, but it’s not scheduled on the backlog as of yet.

Group Writeback: manage members and owners for Office 365 Groups
in the current state of the feature Group Writeback creates a representation of the corresponding Office 365 Group to the local AD.
Originally you cannot manage that groups properties in the local AD, as Azure ADConnect will undo your local changes and will not sync on-prem ADs changes back to Azure AD.
Now as Office 365 Groups are the fundament for Microsoft Teams, this should be changed to that workflow, if Group Writeback is enabled:
a. create the Office 365 Group (or Team) in Azure AD, setting up basic settings and initial owners/membersb. sync it down to my customers…

sort the groups
I think it would be necessary to sort the groups in alphabetical order or in an order defined by the user. We should also see to consolidate groups or groups by section as it can be done with users that we are in a group.
233 votesThank you for the feedback. Can you please provide more information on the use case scenario please?

Possibility to archive groups
Please give us a possibility to archive groups for purpose of lifetime governance. This means a) an administrative tool/report to find inactive or unused groups and b) an option to cleanup these groups. This could mean but is not limited to making them readonly, hiding them from Groups List, etc.
228 votesThanks for the feedback on this scenario. Now that Microsoft 365 Groups (formerly Office 365 Groups) have integrated with retention policies and Microsoft Teams has provided the ability to archive a Team, we are assessing the remaining parts of the scenario.

Add CardDav, CalDav, and IMAP synchronization support for G Suite
Office365 business lack of support for
* CardDav
* CalDav
* IMAP to GSuite
makes it impossible for me and my clients to use for the following reasons:
it would require maintenance of two sets of calendars, contacts, and emails
many applications (JIRA, etc.) have integrations and Office365 does not and will not likely ever have the same level of developer support.
Thus, you will lose market share unless you add true synchronization features. Additionally, the google sync tool only works with Outlook desktop.Notes:
* Windows 10 Mail and Calendar support these features so should 365.
* Your 'premium'…216 votes -
Changes to UnifiedGroup.EmailAddresses does not sync with MsolGroup.ProxyAddresses
The changes are additive but if you remove an email address from UnifiedGroup.EmailAddresses, it is not reflected in MsolGroup.ProxyAddresses. This is important for organizations that host multiple domains in the same tenant.
To reproduce:
New-UnifiedGroup -DisplayName "myawesomegroup" -Notes "myawesomegroup" -Alias "myawesomegroup" -EmailAddress "myawesomeness@contoso.onmicrosoft.com" -owner "consultant@contoso.com" -AccessType Public -Verbose
Get-UnifiedGroup myawesomegroup | select *
Set-UnifiedGroup myawesomegroup -PrimarySmtpAddress "myawesomeness@contoso.com"
Set-UnifiedGroup myawesomegroup -PrimarySmtpAddress "yourawesomeness@contoso.onmicrosoft.com"
Set-UnifiedGroup myawesomegroup -EmailAddresses @{remove="SMTP:myawesomeness@contoso.onmicrosoft.com"}
Set-UnifiedGroup myawesomegroup -EmailAddresses @{remove="SMTP:myawesomeness@contoso.com"}
$msolGroup = Get-MsolGroup | Where-Object {$_.DisplayName -eq "myawesomegroup"}
$msolGroup.ProxyAddresses
This shows all the email addresses that have been added.…

Shared Contacts
I was hoping that switching to O365 Groups would allow our small team to share contact information. Sadly it seems only Files and Calendars are an option.
I would very much like to have a "shared contacts" area within the group - these should be editable by the group owner(s) and be available for viewing on the Groups mobile app as well as from within Outlook.
206 votesThanks for the feedback! Can you provide more information on how you would use Group’ shared contacts and if this feature is something that you need in both consumer and enterprise identities. Please keep the feedback and votes coming! Thanks!

Provide guest members full access to group calendar
Add the ability for Guest members to access the group calendar along with files and conversations. At this time you can only send invites to these members but they can not create events themselves or see the calendar.
209 votesThanks for the feedback! Can you provide more information about how you prefer guest policies to work and if you think allowing guests the same level of permissions as any other member is desirable? Additionally, would you like to control policies for specific guests or just have blanket policy for all guests? Please keep the feedback and votes coming! Thanks!

Allow users to edit their groups' photo while not allowing them to change their own photo
If the SetPhotoEnabled OWA Mailbox policy is set to False, users are also not able to Change the photo of Office 365 Groups they created, which is a flawed design choice. They are however able to Delete the group photo, which is a bug. Please make a seperate "SetPhotoEnabled"setting for users and group and fix this bug.
199 votesThanks for the feedback! Can you provide more information on how users will use this feature and how often do the group owners need to change the group image? Please keep the feedback and votes coming! Thanks!

Adding hidden members to Office 365 Groups
We have hidden our students from Global Address List using "hide from address book" option in AD. Now teachers can't add students to Groups, because adding members to a Group is not possible even if full email address is known. It seems that GAL search is performed during member add. Please allow adding hidden members to a Group.
197 votesWe’re working on this feature, and we hope to release later this spring. In our implementation, members of groups with hidden membership will not be visible to non-members; i.e. a non-member browsing these groups in the GAL will see no members in the group.

Manually set permissions for "Everyone except external users" for modern group permissions in SharePoint O365 don't stick!
Unexpected and buggy behavior encountered when permissions are manually set using modern group permissions in a SharePoint site. If you manually assign "Everyone except external users" with "Read" access in a "Private group" SharePoint team site it will remain with those permissions until you make a change in Teams or SharePoint such as adding/removing a member. It appears that making a change in Teams or SharePoint resets default "Private group" permissions for the site and removes "Everyone except external users" from the Visitors group.
Similarly, If you manually set "Everyone except external users" with Read permissions in the Visitors group…

Restrict default permissions for Files in Public groups
Currently, the "Everyone except external users" claim/group is added with Edit level access to every Office 365 public group. This in turn means that every user in the company is not only able to view files in every public group, they are also able to delete files.
The suggestion is to remove "Everyone except external users" from the Members group, thus removing the Edit permissions level. Instead, the Viewers group should be used for "Everyone except external users".

Support for Azure AD extension attributes as part of a Office 365 groups naming policy.
since all standard attributes supported by AzureAD do fit the desired naming convention (use some Shorter ones - than long Department / Company terms) we want to use shortcuts in the name of the Group. With this we can get into compliance to the existing GAL Naming convention and Users can directly identify groups belonging to their business Unit. Therefore we need to use the Azure AD extension attributes. The attributes are already filled in the onPrem AD, just waiting to get replicated and supported. This will also allow a lot more flexibility in creation of naming policies, fitting the…

Support for multiple group calendars
Current Office 365 Groups only support one group calendar. In many use cases this is not enough. Support for multiple group calendars within the same group should be supported
175 votesThanks for the feedback! Can you provide more information how additional group calendars will be used? do you see same group membership across all calendars? Please keep the feedback and votes coming! Thanks!

Disabled Office 365 Group Connectors only works in Microsoft Teams
Hello!
Selected connectors which are enabled in Microsoft Teams are not replicated to Outlook.
In Outlook I can still use every connector, even when I only configured one external connector in Microsoft Teams.
This seems to be a bug otherwise I'm only able to disable the connectors for the whole Office 365 Group via the new PowerShell cmdlet.166 votes -
View members of group in Outlook for Mac
Distribution Lists and Outlook 365 Groups are still handled differently by Outlook for Mac. One example is that you can view the membership of a distribution list but you cannot view the membership of a group.

Renaming groups: when renaming a group with naming policy applied then the naming policy will be reapplied after renaming the group
Renaming groups: when renaming a group with naming policy applied then the naming policy will be reapplied after renaming the group, meaning there will be double prefixes and postfixes. When renaming groups, it shoud be checked if the pre- and postfixes are already present, and if not be added (again).

Don't add group calendar items to user's personal calendar
When an entry is added on a group calendar, it also shows up on each member's personal calendar. Most users do not want to see the group calendar invitation on their personal calendar: 1) because they are already a member of the group, b) not all group activities apply to the every member, and 3) for higher volume calendars, each member is burdened with a lot of time wasted in deleting these entries to clear out their own/personal calendar. SUGGESTION: Add a setting to the Group so that this behavior can be prevented. Selecting multiple calendars (even group calendars) should…

As the person creating an event, simply create an Appointment (in Outlook 2016) or an event with no attendees in Outlook on the web with the “Send a meeting invitation to group members” unchecked.
Doing so will make sure the events stay only in the Group calendar, and is perfect for FYI items like out-of-office.

Ability to control which Office 365 services are available for use within groups
Creation of an Office 365 Group will automatically provision a number of O365 services (SP doc library, team site, OneNote, Planner, Calendar, etc). For organizations who are not ready (or able) to leverage certain services, how about providing the ability to control which services can be provisioned for use in groups?
For example, if our organization is only able to leverage an SP doc library and a OneNote, I would be able to configure groups to only make those specific services visible to our end users (items like a team site and Planner would be hidden/unavailable). This would be critical…

URL to show Group Calendar view
A distinct URL to display a group calendar view. Currently a URL will display the calendar alongside the users calendar but only if they are a member of the group, if the group is public the URL should display the calendar.
129 votesThank you for the feedback. Can you please provide more information how would you use this feature and if the group URL view should be read-only or editable depending on user permissions?
