Revise the Office 365 Groups purpose and separate email from the group
Many company don't want to clutter their Office 365 Group by only allow admin to create the group. It means that the whole purpose of Office 365 Groups shoule be revised.
Trying to "simplify" things by connecting Office 365 Group automatically actually make things more complicated than it should be. And also the security issue when Office 365 Group also can be used to receive emails. Any user can use it to create virtual email to register external services, abuse the system.
At least, you should separate email from Office 365 Group, this allows user to create any group they like, without affecting to the company security. Only IT can link a group with an email address.
Apps like Planner also make thing worst. Yammer connected group cannot be used in Teams and Mail. A lot of confusing things. When you call it an Office 365 Group, you must have a central place to create a Group, then every service use it by linking or sync (or creating a page which allow group creator to enable/disable services for the group). Do not allow apps to create group.
Yammer should allow user to create Yammer group and connect them to Office 365 if they want, not force. Yammer is a social network and it should have it own groups.
Absolutely agree. O365 Groups have completely cluttered our Global Address List.
