  1. Add security groups to Office 365 groups

I need a way of making security groups part of an Office 365 group. I want to be able to add users to a security group and then they are automatically a member of a Office 365 group.

Dynamic group membership only appears to work for user attribute values and not their group membership.

    • Private Personal Planner (Like Personal OneDrive)

Users, by default, should get a personal, private, Planner just like their personal OneDrive. The problem is that if a user wants to use Planner, just for themselves, it creates an entire O365 Group which becomes visible in the GAL and the entire organization. It also creates mail, sharepoint site, etc... which is completely unnecessary and wastes resources (because the user already has mail and onedrive) just for a personal planner.

        • Convert distribution groups to mail-enabled security groups

I have a need to convert a number of distribution groups to mail-enabled security groups. Right now I have to record DG members, delete the DG, create the SG and populate the SG.

          • Remove Groups Folder from

I don't want to see Groups or Fav Groups Calendar in my Outlook 2016 Folder View. I need it clean and simple. Don't clutter it up with whatever you want to. Add an option to hide ANY element in that tree.

            • Office 365 Groups Content Type hub connection

There is the possibility to use content types in group libraries but it would be best if it could consume content type from the content type hub

              • Create new group from template and/or existing group

To ensure consistent Groups across the organization, be able to create a new group from an existing group, keeping the structure (Navigation/sub-sites, Library folders, Notebook sections, Planner buckets..) without the content/documents

                • Disabled Office 365 Group Connectors only works in Microsoft Teams

                  Hello!

Selected connectors which are enabled in Microsoft Teams are not replicated to Outlook.
In Outlook I can still use every connector, even when I only configured one external connector in Microsoft Teams.
This seems to be a bug otherwise I'm only able to disable the connectors for the whole Office 365 Group via the new PowerShell cmdlet.

                  • Restrict default permissions for Files in Public groups

Currently, the "Everyone except external users" claim/group is added with Edit level access to every Office 365 public group. This in turn means that *every* user in the company is not only able to view files in *every* public group, they are also able to *delete* files.

The suggestion is to remove "Everyone except external users" from the Members group, thus removing the Edit permissions level. Instead, the Viewers group should be used for "Everyone except external users".

                    • Office 365 Groups Expiration - Need Exclusion Feature

What’s really needed is an exclusion list, ex: Expire all groups EXCEPT for these 5 that I really really care about. All the others, let the owners decide if they want to keep them, but these 5, I keep important stuff in there, and I don’t want to sweat it about missing an email and potentially losing all that information.
Otherwise, due to the dynamic nature of groups, if I set a selected list of groups that I want to expire, I would have to keep coming back to this to keep it updated since any user can self create…

                      • Enable versioning settings - Major and minor versions

For exisitng SharePoint users to migrate to Groups they need documents migrated from SharePoint libraries. Most of the libries are major and minor version enabled. In this case we cant migarte content due to O365 Groups doesnt have that setting.

                        • Ability to control which Office 365 services are available for use within groups

Creation of an Office 365 Group will automatically provision a number of O365 services (SP doc library, team site, OneNote, Planner, Calendar, etc). For organizations who are not ready (or able) to leverage certain services, how about providing the ability to control which services can be provisioned for use in groups?

For example, if our organization is only able to leverage an SP doc library and a OneNote, I would be able to configure groups to only make those specific services visible to our end users (items like a team site and Planner would be hidden/unavailable). This would be critical…

                          • Consolidated Admin Interface To Control Office 365 Connectors/Apps Across Office 365

Within Yammer, Outlook and MS Teams we have a similar concept of connectors/apps. Each of these has different ways of controlling what connectors/apps are available to users. We would like to see a consolidated Admin interface to control which connectors/apps are enabled or disabled as well as whether or not each of these connectors/apps allows actionable activities ie. allow the Twitter connector/app but disable the like and comment buttons via the consolidated Admin interface.

                              • Add auto reply capabilities to a group

Seems basic to me. We run a service company. An email comes into service@company.com

We want to forward the email to members in our group but also auto reply to the sender letting them know the email was received.

I could set up a 'paid for' user that does nothing but auto-reply and then forward to a distribution list .. but what a pain .. and cost.

                                    • Support for Azure AD extension attributes as part of a Office 365 groups naming policy.

since all standard attributes supported by AzureAD do fit the desired naming convention (use some Shorter ones - than long Department / Company terms) we want to use shortcuts in the name of the Group. With this we can get into compliance to the existing GAL Naming convention and Users can directly identify groups belonging to their business Unit. Therefore we need to use the Azure AD extension attributes. The attributes are already filled in the onPrem AD, just waiting to get replicated and supported. This will also allow a lot more flexibility in creation of naming policies, fitting the…

                                      • Granular delegation and/or approval of group creation

The current state of GroupCreationEnabled in OWA mailbox policies makes it hellacious to delegate or control who can create groups. Customers should be able to easily delegate group creation to admins or "trained" users.

Currently this requires customers to "fork" their OWA mailbox policies, just to have a container on which to set GroupCreationEnabled to true. Then it become VERY difficult to manage as OWA mailbox policies are not "inherited"--any future change to corporate policies has to be deployed across multiple OWA mailbox policies.

Better yet, a group creation request form, with "approval" delegated.

Thanks for the feedback. We’re addressing this feedback by promoting the ability to manage group membership into Active Directory. In the near future, an admin can identify a security group that includes the users allowed to create Office 365 Groups form all endpoints. Then you can manage the membership in that security group as any other security group in your organization.

Note that the initial configuration to identify the group will be done in powershell.

Move attachments from OWA directly to the Groups Onedrive File. Currently your only options are: view, save it in OneDrive or Download it.
