Ability to set Unified Group timezone
I have this scenario:
- A group calendar has an event
- A new user is added to the group
- The new user gets an email about an upcoming event in the group calendar. Problem: the event time in the email body is in PST and at the end of the email there is a message "Dates and times are based on the group's timezone setting: Pacific Standard Time."
Both the SharePoint site of the group and the user's profile has the timezone set to UTC+2 (Helsinki), these settings don't seem to have any effect. I also tried to access the timezone settings of the group's mailbox via PowerShell, but I get an error that the mailbox doesn't exist.
Thank you for providing this feedback. We are investigating how to enable time-zones for group calendars. Please keep the votes coming.
Please Microsoft! solve this! our students have received lesson reminders for 3 am and believe that teachers do not know how to use email or are disorganized. This problem generates numerous complaints from teachers and students to IT! and we can do nothing to help. Please!

I know Redmond is the only important place in the world, but some of us out here in flyover country would like to see meeting reminders sent out in the Timezone we're used to using. I mean we're a bunch of ignorant hics and it's really tough for us to make these timezone adjustments in our heads. We might have to do some serious ciphering on the back of a bar napkin to figure out when that tractor pull starts, and if we mess that up we's gonna miss the greased pig wrasslin after.
If it was at least possible to alter the timezone with Set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration we could solve this ourselves.
We've had the default time zone set to Eastern US for over a year. Groups have the "correct" (for our location) time zone when they're created. Yet, these "helpful" messages (from MS Graph, I assume?) display inaccurate and misleading information which only serves to confuse end users.
Please, MS, make Graph (or whatever is generating these messages) smart enough to actually read the Group's time zone and factor that into the content of the message. Given the "power of AI" and MS Graph, I'm sure this is possible...please just make it happen!

The other comments are over a year old; this is a no brainer Microsoft. To limit all of your customers to one time zone (guessing based on their region) is inconceivable. Please give this the green light and make it right.

I manage Office 365 for a nonprofit and I am also experiencing the issue where group calendars are not matching the Regional settings of the SharePoint site, the admin settings for the organization nor the personal settings of the individual user.
Please fix this issue.

Same issue here. I've tried setting the Sharepoint sites associated with 365 groups/Teams to EST and that didn't work. It's nothing to do with user accounts either. Pls fix this so that the notifications use the individual users' time zones, Microsoft! It's created a lot of confusion for our organization.
