Add security groups to Office 365 groups
I need a way of making security groups part of an Office 365 group. I want to be able to add users to a security group and then they are automatically a member of a Office 365 group.
Dynamic group membership only appears to work for user attribute values and not their group membership.
Hi, As announced at Ignite Sep 2020, we will be making this functionality available as an open source tool by the end of the year. It can be used to pull in 1 or more security groups (nested or not) to drive the membership of a M365 Group. The membership will be pulled in as a flat list and kept in sync with the security group membership. However, if you have a pressing need for it before then, please reach out to GMMSupport@service.microsoft.com for a download of the tool. There is no support provided for the tool from Microsoft, other than answering any question around how we use it here. Really import feature. Organisations that we support add AD security groups as Team Members and they think that the Team Members will be synced. But we have to tell them that they need to manually administer the members. Big organisations, with over 100 employees, doesn't want that extra work.
I really hope the feature to use security groups to drive membership in Office 365 Groups is an priority and hope it's finished even earlier than 2020 Q1.

Any workaround for this?
This feature is a must to simplify the management of Office 365 groups

Any updates on this one? We are implementing Teams for a large customer of ours and this is asked very often...

Why is it that one of the largest software companies in the world have a release velocity that appears soooooo slow?
You havent even released things that were announced at Ignite last year

I also have this need (large retail company) and would love to see this happen sooner than later. Building the 1000's of accounts via the Dynamic Membership in a Security Group and then adding that Dyn SG to an O365 Group that is designed as assigned.

I also would like it the other way around, adding O365 groups to AAD security groups.
Why: This might be to a missing feature in Power BI. Power BI currently can't att a Office 365 group to a RLS (Row Level Security) Role. One way top come around this could be to add a Office 365 group members into a AAD security group.
And I guess that also without this very specific Power BI need, there might be other reasons whay someone would like to do this as well

I have several large customers (5000+ users) in need of this feature to deploy Teams in the entire organization. At the moment this is seen as a blocker.
The ETA can be found here on the Roadmap (Q1 2020):
Any more news apart from the above on the already fantastic news that this is now a planned feature?

Is there any update on when this will be available?

Need this, when will it be available?
Same ETA question as everyone else, but in regards to GCC. Any chance this will be rolled out to everyone at once?
Any ETA on this?
Same question here! When will this be available?
Hi, any ideas, when this will be available? Especially large companies manage their active directory groups with identity management systems. S othere is really a need to update memberships for e.g. MS TEAMS based on the active directory groups.

Did Microsoft realized that at least big companys have their own group management system and that it is an absolute need to reuse these groups for application management in O365 ? That's the necessary condition for large deployment of O365 solutions. I hope they understood and that this feature is a priority.

Important option, same Q as others, ETA?
