Show Groups in Outlook 2016 without caching
A few months ago we had the ability of using groups in Outlook 2016. We were in the middle of a migration and ready for the usage of groups. Apparently, the groups disappeared from Outlook 2016 and can only be turned on when using caching. Using cached-mode is not a option for us as a school. We are also using VDI/VmView-environment and having cached-mode on would certainly bring a lot of problems to the table. I've spoken with a MS technician and the answer was this is by design behavior. We would like to have the option at least to cache groups and not the whole mailbox or have the groups back in Outlook 2016 (and beyond) without caching. I can't find a explanation as to why this has been changed?
The same idea was posted here: https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/286611-office-365-groups/suggestions/17636074-show-groups-in-outlook-2016-client-without-cached
It's been declined, but there's not even a comment explaining why.
