Restrict Ability to Create Duplicate Team Names
While MS Groups restricts the ability to create duplicate names, there seems to be no such restrictions in MS Teams? That leads to duplicate names in the Global Address Book (and in Groups) which is leading to confusion. This may just be a bug which is already planning on getting fixed.
It Might also be helpful to know which workload created the Group, Planner, Streams, Teams, Outlook, etc.
it would also be important to include the group naming policy that will be applied such as a ny prefix or suffix to the email address, (group ID).
the difference appears that when you create a group via Outlook the unique identifier is the email address which is included. via Teams you do not see the group ID (email address) so you do not see the extra characters that are added via the workflow when a group is created via teams.
I would suggest that each service, (Outlook, Teams, Planner, etc) include the group ID(email address) so the interface and functionality is always the same.
