I was hoping that switching to O365 Groups would allow our small team to share contact information. Sadly it seems only Files and Calendars are an option.
I would very much like to have a "shared contacts" area within the group - these should be editable by the group owner(s) and be available for viewing on the Groups mobile app as well as from within Outlook.
Thanks for the feedback! Can you provide more information on how you would use Group’ shared contacts and if this feature is something that you need in both consumer and enterprise identities. Please keep the feedback and votes coming! Thanks!
This is available in Outlook for Windows, why is it not applicable for Outlook for MAC
In office 365 group via OWA or Outlook app, there is no tab for contacts folder. Why? Like we have for email and Calendar. If you dont want customer to use PF's and If O365 group is a replacement of PF's please i would request you to have contacts tab made available in OWA/Outlook desktop and also on Outlook mobile.
This would help customers keep a shared contacts folder irrespective of the device they use. Remember O365 cloud computing is all about access your resources from anywhere, irrespective of the device type
Sharing groups is the way business works. Contact group sharing used to be in OWA, or was that Lotus Notes. Oh well, Please put it back/add in.

We are moving to O365 and we have all done online with no any office soft installed on PCs. All available solutions to share addressbooks (shared folders) are based on outlook client.
As admnisistrator of our company I´m looking for an addressbook which is spittable to different teams. This one shold be available for outlook and for our mobilephones.
I want to have a addressbook, where everybody of of company has access to but although want to have seperated one for thedifferent teams in our office (sales, service, management etc), because different teams has got different contacts.
Hope that this feature will be released soon.
The main reason I switched from shared mailboxes to teams/office365 groups was for users to be able access shared mailboxes from their mobile devices. The shared group calendar feature works amazingly. The only real feature missing is shared contacts. As a manager, I want to be able to add and removed contacts for my team and their projects and have that automatically available to them on their mobile devices. So many times we get updated contact info or points of contact for projects and I have to make sure every team member individually has the info.
O365 MUST have shared contact functionality that integrates with its Outlook Web Access.Share contacts can be achieved through a shared mailbox when using the Outlook client, but we are urging customers to go cloud only / browser only. Shared contacts in OWA is a must have!
We definitely need "shared contacts" area within our group to properly function - and especially important: it needs to be available for viewing on the Groups mobile app as well.

O365 Groups/Teams should have the option to have shared Contacts, Calendars and Tasks automatically augmented with users Contacts, Calendars and Tasks so they show up in all apps and platforms with some sort of tag to indicates they're from the shared group. Give the user to disable or unsubscribe from specific lists. If the user gets removed from the group, the contact, calendar and task information gets removed as well.
Unbelievable how many duplicates of this idea there are and votes are spread among them making it not be heard by developers.
and many more.

In order to eliminate the use of public folders we need this in groups. I had to create a Shared Mailbox just to share Contacts.
Also absolutely crucial to this is that the shared contacts folder appears in Outlook natively and -can be used as an address book- where the users can search for contacts in the To: field and auto-complete.
Currently I can create group emails on my I Mac Outlook. But the contact groups I created can only be saved to the I Mac, not to Outlook online. I don't need groups to be able share emails, calendar etc. I need groups for sending group emails only. Recipients of the group email can't see each others email address (Bcc) and can't interact within the group only be able to respond back to the sender.
Sharing contacts still sucks across the board where you should be able to use them.
Having a shared contacts section in groups would be great.
They should be available on Outlook, OWA, all apps and be available to activesync to native apps on mobile devices. Both to search AND auto-complete.
Editing rights should be possible to all subscribers and/or manageable at the discretion of the owners.
