Planner: Remove character limit for Description and Checklist
Currently there amount of characters that can be typed in fields Description and Checklist within a Planner card is very limited. Please allow more characters or at least display a number of remaining characters available.
This should be posted in the Microsoft Planner User Voice. We are investigating how to move it. Here is the link: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum
Planner is essentially useless if the checklists have character limitations. Please change this or will have to go back to Basecamp and I really don't want to.
Planner's "Description" field was just recently addressed:
But apparently not the character limit for comments?

I just wrote a lengthy comment on a task in Planner to only find the vast majority is simply "chopped" off at the knees. AT LEAST PUT IN A FREAKIN' 'CHARACTERS LEFT' COUNT!
We are literally building a Planner alternative because of this limitation. It sincerely believe it is really costing Microsoft customers, or at the very least Planner users.
also, the text should wrap, i.e. instead of truncating the text in a checklist, wrap the text to the line below so all of the characters are displayed.
Any update on this? Very limiting at this time.

I agree with others, that such a short character limit with a Planner tasks greatly reduces it's viability as a true group organizational management tool.
I’d also like the comments and checklost fields to be longer (no limit ideally)
And allow for rich text.

A limit would be ok, if it would not be so unbelievably low. It is nearly unusable with the current limit. You can however add the limit for comments to the issue. It is too low as well...
The limited number of characters for descriptionfields and checklists keep us going with Trello boards.
