Calendar permissions
Please make it possible to set Calendar permissions to read only so that it's possible to have a group calendar that can only be edited by selected members of the group.

Thanks for the request. Currently there is a way to set this property through powershell for groups, but it only works for users in OWA. We have this in our plans for Outlook desktop as well and will be working on it.
Thanks.

For me, as a teacher, it is important that I can decide who is able to add or change items in the calendar. Some students have a tendency to mess about with the dates for tests e.g.

As others said, we need the ability to assign 'read only' access to group calendars so that some people can see calendar event details but cannot edit. It would be handy if they could also receive and accept/decline invitations without being allowed to edit/add/delete events. And it needs to be easy for calendar owners to manage this since we have staff managing group calendars who are not going to use powershell. It seems you could just add 'view event details', 'view event details and accept/decline invitations', and 'view and edit events' as options to assign to group members.
An example of our need is a boat calendar. We have a fleet of boats. All staff need to be able to see what boat trips are scheduled where and when, but we only want our boat managers to edit this calendar. However staff need to be able to accept invitations from boat managers for trips they are passengers on. I am sure this is the type of need that almost all organizations have.

hope the outlook calendar can update soon to let all group calendar members to have access to add their event on the calendar not only just for the organization, but also the external user who also have the access to the calendar!

Please also add ability to add multiple calendars to a team. As an MSP, we use several external calendars for OnCall and other tasks management. It would be great to be able to attach web feed calendars to a group/team in the same way we can to a shared mailbox. Then our helpdesk team would automatically have access to the necessary calendars.

This is certainly an issue... o365 calendar is the only one that works on mobile (sharepoint / etc. doesn't) but people can't add their own items without being a calendar owner!
This really needs to be resolved...
In both Outlook 2016 and on the web. Permissions just "Greyed out". What happened to "Contributor" permissions???? -

It's now 2020 - please make read-only an option in Group calendars for admins. Also, it would be great to be able to choose select members of a Group to attend a meeting and not the whole Group. We want to show the event/meeting on the calendar but not all members need to attend each meeting.

It would also be useful to let Owners change the Default permissions for the calendar to Reviewer or Free/Busy w Subject & Location; not to mention the full-blown capability adding, changing and deleting permissions as we can do with a user, resource or shared mailbox.

How is calendar permission flexibility not implemented yet? Extremely simple feature that is already in place in other parts of the application. Not to mention the ability to stop emails from going out to everyone.. Microsoft please, we have over 2000 users, migrated all Public Folders to something that was in 2010 exchange and before. I have many unhappy users right now.

How can such a simple feature such as this still not be implemented 2 years later?

Still need this feature. This is insanity. I can't use a group to communicate with employees if every employee can edit the calendar. Every other Sharepoint feature can edit permissions--this needs to be extended to the group calendar ASAP.

Will it ever be possible to allow non-members read access to an O365 group calendar? I'm trying to avoid using a shared calendar and would instead like for the members of an O365 group to create calendar appointments that can be viewed by people outside of that group: e.g. the rest of the company.

How is it June of 2019 and you still haven't fixed this?

When will it be rolled out in Outlook Desktop?

This feature Needs to be added. Period! .. This would assist in not having accidental deletion of High Profile Calendar appointments...Like Government official appointments -- when you have multiple people making appointment for one individual.

This is a must have feature for our organization so that we can use Group Calendaring for company wide information dissemination about events at our organization.
