Give Tenant admin access to all Office 365 groups
There are 2 situations in which a tenant admin needs to be able to access all groups
1) If a group is private it seems a Tenant admin has no access to it. I can't check to see if a group is actually in use (and therefore whether to delete it or not) without getting the group owner to grant access
2) Allow the Tenant admin to reassign ownership should the group owner leave without appointing a successor

I too think this is a necessity to allow Tenant admin access to all O365 Groups and Teams. It is impossible to help users when we are locked out of the objet that they created in ignorance.
For assistance this function is essential. The workaround to give yourself "owner"-rights is not workable.
Yes, this is frustrating. It would make sense to make "Global Admins" owners by default (hidden) or to allow the addition of security groups to the member/owner lists of an Office 365 group. As it is right now, we have to first grant ourselves "owner" access to each Office 365 group before we can assist any of our users.
I'd also like to make a plug to permit group owners to see all deleted content within the group's recycle bin AND to be able to easily view and manage all versioned data in any of the lists/libraries.
