Convert Shared Mailbox to Office 365 Group
There should be an option to convert a shared mailbox to an office 365 group especially since the Office 365 Group is the newer better version of the Shared mailbox and there is no way to convert.

I'd love to migrate all shared mailboxes to groups, but for this we need subfolders (sent mail, junkmail ecc.) and tagging (completed/uncompleted and to see who took the mail in charge). Otherwise we can't replaced shared folders with Outlook Groups.

Microsoft has provide the process for converting / upgrading a distribution list to an Office 365 group. Please provide the ability to convert / upgrade a shared mailbox to an Office 365 group.

Does this add-in help with copying calendar items from a shared mailbox to a calendar in Office 365 Groups (including recurrence patterns)? This is something that we really need. We have a bunch of shared mailboxes where groups of users only use the calendar. We want to create an Office 365 Group for each, but they want their calendar items to be copied over.

I really want to convert our shared info mail adress to a office 365 Group. Since it not possible to use shared mailbox in the Outlook app on mobile phones but now I can see Outlook app on mobile phones support office 365 Groups. If I will use the addin to move information to a Group and delete the shared mailbox. How long do I have to wait Before I can use the same info adress as the emailadress in the office 365 Group?

In the meantime if someone wants to work with us as a beta site to get this going or wants a custom solution let us know. We have all the code to do the conversion it's just a matter of arranging it in a way that makes sense.

That is true. Our addin was designed to copy or move information from a mailbox to a new group. We are considering your suggestion to turn a shared mailbox into a group as another option. I will update this thread when i have more information.

@Don DeCarlo. Your plugin does really seem to help with conversion at all. The do seem to possible help with copying data over, but I think when we talk about convert we are talking about talking the shared mailbox and turning it into a group. Not creating the group (with a different email) and then copying over all the information.

This would be great. The shared mailbox has always been clunky with users and we'd like to test if Office 365 groups is a better option.
