Renaming Email Address or Adding Alias
IN order to accept emails from outside organization and having multiple tenants, option to rename email address or add another SMTP address as primary SMTP should be there. We cannot encourage users to use Office 365 Groups unless the email address is organization friendly.

Wasted my afternoon with a member of staff who had less knowledge than myself, total waste of time and least they got paid for it

Can Admin at least offer a workaround?
The support person that I talked to said to create a new team with the new email address and tell my team to refer to the old group for past conversations in Teams. That is not an efficient, effective or useful solution, as obviously, I'm calling because I don't want to make my team do that.

I am having the same issue.... Own a franchise for a larger company. I don't own the domain and they are not going to migrate it for me. I want to use Microsoft ecentuals online. I dont want my @onmicrosoft.com email address to populate. I want it to be my work IMAP address to populate. This is frustrating. I have talked to support 3 times trying to resolve this. It works for a few minutes then it quits working.

Ability to add an alias address in order to migrate from on-prem distribution groups.
