  1. Move documents directly from Onedrive to a specific Group.

When contributing to a Group. Enable feature to move documents directly from Onedrive to a specific map within a Group. (now done by downloading / uploading). But documents are already in Office 365

OneDrive now supports moving files directly from OneDrive to SharePoint sites associated with Microsoft 365 Groups (formerly Office 365 Groups). From OneDrive, select the file to move, then click “Move to” in the toolbar. You’ll be presented with a list of any SharePoint sites you are following or have used recently. Thanks!

  2. Save group's email attachments to the Group's Onedrive Folder

Currently you can only see attachments by checking emails directly and to save to the group's Onedrive folder your only option is to Download it.

  3. Add auto reply capabilities to a group

Seems basic to me. We run a service company. An email comes into service@company.com

We want to forward the email to members in our group but also auto reply to the sender letting them know the email was received.

I could set up a 'paid for' user that does nothing but auto-reply and then forward to a distribution list .. but what a pain .. and cost.

  5. Allow members to search private groups.

Currently only files in public groups can be searched. Members of private groups should be able to search for files in them.

  6. Associate Office 365 Groups to Existing SharePoint Sites

When creating an Office 365 Group, a SharePoint site is automatically created. Neither the user nor the administrator, however, have any control of where that group lives or what template it uses.

Ideally, users would be able to alternatively associate an Office 365 Group with an EXISTING SharePoint site, thus allowing them to a) choose any location, b) choose any template, and c) associate with current SharePoint infrastructure (instead of potentially duplicating content).

Obviously, the site would need to a) meet some preconditions, b) be upgraded to satisfy requirements, or c) have limited integration support. For instance, the site would…

  7. Remove Groups Folder from

I don't want to see Groups or Fav Groups Calendar in my Outlook 2016 Folder View. I need it clean and simple. Don't clutter it up with whatever you want to. Add an option to hide ANY element in that tree.

  8. Add Group Tasks feature

Add a feature to be able to create and manage tasks within a group. Everyone should be able to create tasks, and they should be able to be assigned to specific group members to complete. When viewing tasks you should be able to filter by who the task is currently assigned to.

In addition they should appear in applications, such as Outlook, iCal, etc.

Tasks will come to Groups by way of Planner. Planner makes it easy for your team to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what you’re working on, and get updates on progress. Planner is based on the Groups framework and delivers team task management to Groups in Office 365.

Learn more about planner here: https://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-planner

Track the rollout of planner here:

  9. Offer Office 365 Groups as an option when saving a document

When saving a document with the "save as" menu there should be the option to save it to a group folder.

  11. Ability to disable external sharing by default for newly created Office 365 Groups

Currently if external sharing is enabled at the tenant level, new Office 365 Groups also have external sharing enabled by default. If an organization only wants to allow external sharing for a limited number of Office 365 Groups, but still allow any user to create a new Office 365 Group, IT is required to manually disable external sharing on every new group that is created which is not feasible.

  12. Expire Groups based on inactivity

Currently group expiration is based on an renewal date, example: require the owner to renew every 6 months.
However, the risk is if the owner doesn't see the email(s) (they get three) then the group could be removed even if there is legitimate group activity going on.
We would like the group expiration to be influenced by actual group activity, so if you see the email alias associated with a group actively being used then do not delete the group, but instead send the owner an email saying "are you still using this? We won't delete it, but we just…

Group expiry has shipped to General Availability, along with the ability to automatically renew groups based on activity. Please reference this documentation for more details. Thanks for all the feedback!

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/users-groups-roles/groups-lifecycle#:~:text=Groups%20with%20user%20activities%20are%20automatically%20renewed%20as,days%20by%20the%20group%20owners%20or%20the%20administrator.

  13. Information architecture & information management for group files

Part of a much bigger concern customers are voicing: the disappearance of information architecture & management from OneDrive. Metadata, content types with templates, records management policies. The current state of OneDrive is less powerful than Windows file servers with FCI in 2008, and far less powerful than SharePoint in 2010. Please push that OneDrive team (I'm guessing that's where responsibility lies) to empower OneDrive and thereby Group Files.

  14. Give the ability to disable the "You're now a member of group" email.

The WelcomeMessageEnabled attribute already exist, allow us to change it. We are migrating existing groups and our users already know they are in those groups and when several users are in over 30 different groups I don't want to SPAM them. Also we have groups based on region and don't really want to send an email to everyone in those regions when we create the groups.

Disabling the welcome mail is possible with an extra parameter in the Set-UnifiedGroup cmdlet in Exchange PowerShell: -UnifiedGroupWelcomeMessageEnabled:$false. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/users-and-groups/set-unifiedgroup

Use this as a part of a custom group creation flow if you would like to restrict and/or customize the welcome mail for many groups across your tenant.

  15. Sync Client for Mac for Sharepoint Site

We have the need for a Sync Client for Sharepoint Team Sites for Mac. We are a marketing company, and all of our designers work on Mac Computers. We would like to create a shared space for them to work, and have the documents sync locally. Currently the only sync client available is for OneDrive for Business. Please create a sync client for SharePoint for Mac.

  16. Prevent users from creating public groups

We work in a school and allow teachers to create groups, but they are created as public by default and need to actively choose private. This is a problem as they don't understand the implications that public groups could be seen and accessed by students. It would be better if all of our groups were private and users could not create public groups.

There have been two changes implemented to support this request. First, groups in Outlook are now created Private by default. Second, using the new Microsoft Information Protection Labels will allow you to prevent end users from creating Public groups. These labels drive group behavior. Your organization can define a default label which only creates Private groups and deploy this to the users.

  17. admin role for O365 groups

Currently there is not role that you can assign to a user that has the ability to managed, create and delete O365 Groups. You can give the users another role but this means giving extra permissions to other aspects of office 365. There is one for distribution groups, surely O365 groups can have one?

  18. Microsoft Teams and Planner Integration

We definitely would want the ability to import (or link) existing O365 Group Planner tasks instead of having to create new planner. We currently linked MSFT Teams with one of our existing O365 Group, but there is no way to see all of the tasks that are currently visible within the Group from Teams.

We’ve recently shipped the ability to add an existing plan in Microsoft Teams. If you start in Microsoft Planner and create a set of tasks, navigate to Microsoft Teams and add the O365 Group in Teams. Click the ‘+’ icon to add a new tab, and select “Planner”. You’ll now see a new radio button titled, “Use an existing plan”.

  19. Share group files/folder with external users

Please provide immediate feedback on this issue.

I have multiple clients using Office 365 Groups however without the ability to share group files and folders they will be dropping this feature and have threatened to drop Office 365 all together. This is affecting multiple Clients and is a real "black eye" for Office 365 since this shows a lack of consistency across the features of Office 365 Groups, SharePoint Libraries and OneDrive.

I have noticed the feedback from Microsoft is very slow on this site if at all. I know you are reading this comments and need to see more…

  20. Allow anonymous link sharing for files and folders stored under office 365 groups, similar to what is available in OneDrive For Business.

Having the ability to share anonymous links will help in situations where you don't want to have an external contact as a guest member but want to share a file or folder. If there is the ability to set link expiry time that will be helpful as well.
