  1. pst import

The following is not an idea, but a problem I have with the official to-O365 migration using the .pst method. Please see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeo365admin-msoexchon-mso_o365b/to-office-365-pst-import-import-completed-with/d9ee9cd5-7af7-43c7-9950-393d7c15e470

  2. Ability to purge PST imports

I have been trialling the new PST Import feature and ran into an issue with a corrupt PST. It would be really handy if you could cancel/purge import jobs that are stuck as these just sat at in progress for about 2 days before switching to "completed with errors"

  3. View/Download a detailed PST Import Log

The import log works great but when a PST fails on the import process I just get a 'Failed' status, with no explanation of why. A detailed failure log would be really helpful.

Also from an administrative point of view, the ability to download a log of which PST files were imported into which mailbox and the number of Items imported would be really useful.

  4. Improve PST import tool performance

We found that Import jobs of more than one PST to Mailbox mapping either took an extremely long time to import, or got stuck and never completed. The most reliable way to use the tool was to create individual one-to-one mappings, which meant creating hundreds of jobs when one should have been fine. We also found that imports where the total PST size of multiple mailboxes was over 10 Gb were much more likely to fail or take way too long to finish. Given that Mailbox limits are 50GB, this 10GB limit is too small.

  6. Improve CANCEL JOB option for PST Import

On Import PST console, it would take the opportunity to cancel the job in every moments.
If return an error from the job, we can not do anything.

  8. Remove completed or failed PST import jobs

When importing PST files to Exchange Online users, I can't clear the list of compleated and/or failed jobs.

A remove buttun would be nice. Same as we have when migrating.

  9. simple drag and drop web interface for single or small batch PST Import Tool

For larger migrations, the PST Import Tool is great, however, for small organizations with a small number of email accounts, it takes a lot of time to use Azure AzCopy, Azure Storage Explorer, create the CSV file, and then use the PST Import Tool to import one or two PSTs at a time. It's a lot of prep for a small batch.

A simple web GUI with drag and drop (or use OneDrive and copy the PST to the Admin account OneDrive folder in Windows Explorer/File Explorer) to upload the PST, then select the account the PST should…

  10. Clearer instructions needed to import PST file into Outlook 2016 for Mac

When importing PST file for a 'non-exchange' account, the instructions indicate you simply use Tools/Import and all will be sweetly imported. Trouble is where are the emails hiding?

You need to scroll down to a heading something like 'On my computer' and you will find the PST import there. To put the emails into the new account, you drag and drop from the import into the new account.

  11. PST import tool not to create archive folder structure in main mailbox

When you import a PST file using the new IMPORT function and set to import to the users archive it creates the same empty folder structure in the main mailbox. Office 365 support confirmed this was how the tool currently worked. For the purposes of migration it would be good if this did not happen and the archive PST was just placed into the archive and did not create the folder structure from the archive PST into the main mailbox.

  12. Why there is not simple feature and command to import and export pst to user mailbox.

Why there is no command avail to import pst to office365 mailbox? We can understand MS feel insecure to provide export pst command, MS think customer can easily download data and leave the office365 I know that.

But why now pst import command available, MS engineer are suggesting to import via outlook which is compliance issue.

  13. PST Import needs an option to skip the analysis stage

When importing PST files to online mailboxes or in-place archives using the data import wizard at protection.office.com, one of the steps in the wizard performs an analysis on each PST file to determine the age range of mail within. After the analysis is complete, it then asks whether to only import data from the last 2 years or to import all found data.

When doing a big migration using this tool with over 100,000 pst files the analysis for each batch of import takes a very long time to complete before requiring admin intervention to complete the import wizard.…

  14. Include detailed report for skipped items during PST import

I was referred to the uservoice by the office community

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeo365admin-msosecurity-mso_o365b/identify-skipped-and-failed-items-during-pst/e2c4c2da-bab3-49d1-bad1-dc9bb6f18d5e

Is it possible to identify the skipped and failed items during a pst import job. The log file is vague and only specifies that an item has been skipped. I tried using the get-mailboximportrequeststatistics cmd-let but this also only specifies the quantity and does not identify the specific items that were skipped.
We have performed a network upload to import our orginizations PST files to Office 365. See the following support article (Use network upload to import your organization's PST files to Office…

  15. PST import & export functionality between O365 tenancies OR to local machine via admin GUI or PowerShell

Needs to be simple and straight forward functionality to
    - Export single or multiple PSTs to local storage
    - Import single or multiple PSTs from local storage
    - Migrate data only (PSTs) between tenancies
    Preferably via GUI

  17. Please incude bad item list in report when importing PST

Importing PST files only reports on the number of bad items that failed to import. It would be handy to include the details of the failed items also, similar to mailbox move request reports. Then I can pass it to the user and decide whether to recover or drop the items, and not waste time unnecessarily.

  18. Import tool for multiple pst's into office 365 mailboxes/online archives - deduplication to be as standard/selectable

Import tool for multiple pst's into office 365 mailboxes/online archives - deduplication to be as standard/selectable

This is used where a client has multiple historic archives which are desired to be imported without duplicates into the online archive. Also directly into the root, matching the pst folder structure. Building a single archive instance limiting the number of folders and items generated.
