  2. Allow tenant to change region

Businesses move head quarters and allowing them change region can be very helpful. Currently there is no way to migrate to a new region other than to create a new tenant. While achievable with Exchange Online, with SharePoint Online this is very difficult.

As the recent Japan and Australian migrations show, this is clearly achievable.

The other options is to decrease latency between regions, but this is more of a internet backbone infrastructure issue.

  3. Microsoft Stream

Would like to have the ability to set expiration dates on videos so that they are no longer publicly view-able after the expiration. Would also be a nice feature to be able to send an email alert to the owner(s) of the video that their video will be expiring in XX days so that they would have the ability to extend if necessary.

  4. Report Reader Role

Have a reporting admin role that can view all reports but does not have admin access to be able to be able to modify exchange, sharepoint etc. This would be a great role for CTO's or other top level management that don't need configuration rights.

  5. Allow conversion of distribution groups into security groups

It would be beneficial to provide an easy way to convert a pre-existing distribution group into a security group or vice versa without having to recreate the entire group again. Can you add a simple way to change the type of an existing group?

  6. Add group targeting to the custom tiles for O365

I would like to see the custom tiles for O365 with group targetting. I work at a school currently and they would love to add tiles for students and some other tiles for employees.

  7. Shared mailboxes shouldn't appear in Active Users

After converting a mailbox to a Shared Mailbox, it appears in Shared Mailboxes, but the user account still shows in Active Users. Someone removing unlicensed accounts could easily accidentally delete it. It seems to have no purpose or reason for it to still show under active users. It just creates clutter and confusion.

  8. Block download of video from Microsoft Stream

Currently a channel owner in Office 365 Video is able to choose if the videos with the channel are allowed to be downloaded by the viewer. This capability is not currently in Microsoft Stream and we'd like to see it. This is needed in the use case that we need to prevent an employee from potentially downloading proprietary content and sharing it outside the company, as well as to prevent old content from continuing to exist/be shared within the company after it has gone outdated or been superseded by something new.

  9. Add usage report for Microsoft Forms and/or Security and Compliance report of all forms in organization

Create a way to report all of the Forms that individual users and Teams/Groups have created in the tenant. Show utilization/usage. Give administrators some insight into how popular the Forms app is and what kind of data is being collected/use cases in the business. Include Forms as part of the content search under security and compliance.

  10. Disable password reset for synced users from admin portal

Currently we have password sync feature for synced users from on-premises to office 365 cloud.

However if we reset the users' password by clicking "reset password" in office 365 admin portal, then the psw will be changed from cloud which even we don't have write back feature.

It seems to have a management confliction for users' password.
Please help improve this feature, at least for password synced users.

    Thank you.

  11. Search for sensitive information types using Content Search for Exchange Online data at rest

Found this article that states: So, while you can’t currently use Content Search to find personal data at rest in Exchange Online mailboxes, you can use the sensitive information types you curate for GDPR to find and protect personal information as it is sent through email.

With breaches happening throughout the world it would be great to be able to do a search for PII information in a compromised accounts to verify if there was PII info in their email boxes that could be potentially released to the public or dark web,

  12. NOTIFICATIONS FOR SHARED MAILBOXES

    PROBLEM
    - When a shared mailbox is created, the customer may be interested in receiving notifications on the OWA icon for incoming emails. When I spoke with office 365 support yesterday, I was told Office 365 does not support that option at this time.

    SOLUTION OR RECOMMENDATION?
    - Office 365 engineers may want to look into the matter for future customers. As it stands right now, I will never know when I receive an email and could potentially be losing business because my replies are not prompted by icon notifications.

    THE WORK AROUND:
    - After my phone call with Office…

  13. Allow external LDAP access to O365 / AzureAD

Since O365 can contain 'cloud only' accounts that only exist at O365 (and some customers may want/need it to stay that way), there is no way to set up LDAP authentication for external third party services / applications / appliances to allow users to utilize their O365 accounts to authenticate because there is no means of connecting directly to o365 / Azure AD from outside.

In a scenario where we are connecting to a customer's local AD via LDAP from the internet, we would create special firewall rules to allow only specific IP addresses access in to LDAP (or potentially…

  14. Remove all expired and deprovisioned licenses as it is adding them into totals...

When I have expired licenses and have purchased replacements I can see both added together as available though some are expired. I also get messages about 'errors with your subscription' but does not say where... it is not clear and is confusing as you think you have errors every time you log into the portal...

  15. Stop having MobilePhone attribute overwritten by Office 365 portal

Office 365 recently changed their logon process to have admins verify/update their alternate contact information. Message like the following is presented:

don't lose access to your account!
To make sure you can reset your password, we need to collect some info so we can verify who you are. We won't use this to spam you - just to keep your account more secure. You'll need to set up at least 2 of the options below.

Authentication Phone is set to xxxxx (verify)
Authentication Email is set to xxxxx (verify)

While that seems like a great idea on the surface, the…

  16. Office 365 Group owner

In Groups under Office Admin Center,

Allow admins to display one or more of the following additional properties/columns:

    • Created by

    • Primary Contact - in cases where O365 Groups creation is limited to admins

    • Department owner

This way, we can sort/filter groups that were created by a particular person or team instead of clicking each entry to find out Owners.

  17. OneDrive for Business client needs to be able to automatically update client when UPN changes

Scenario, business segments are converging and we need to update 10K users email domains. Our strategy is to keep email and UPN the same so we require to change the UPN from a federated to a federated domain. One drive for bussiness client can not update regkey HKEYCURRENTUSER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive\Accounts\Business1 with the new email address. Currently requires either manual edit of regkey or onedrive reconfiguration which would than initiate a full download of all data.

  18. Please consoldate all Microsoft services and subscriptions consolidated onto one single invoice instead of many different invoices.

Our accounts payable team complains that they receive many different invoices from Microsoft for multiple subscriptions. They would like to be able to consolidate all of the invoices into one single invoice, no matter how many subscriptions are added or removed.

When you go to a restaurant, you typically receive a bill for all of the items you ordered with one total, rather than multiple bills for each item you ordered. Why can't Microsoft do this same exact thing?

  19. For the Dynamic Distribution list allow a wild card to be used when defining a custom attribute as the criteria

When creating an on premise Dynamic Distribution Group a wild card may be used when using a custom attribute as the criteria. However, this is not possible when the DDG is in the cloud. As per support, it is a current limitation. For example, a custom attribute is used to define Location IDs and the IDs are assigned based on functional area. It would be advantageous to create a DDG to use the attribute so that anyone with an employee id of 50* is placed in the Sales group.

  20. Require TLS Fallback Automatically to OME

When sending e-mails out with sensitive content, we can currently use a Transport Rule to detect said content (Sensitive Info Types) and take an action. Would like to be able to create a transport rule that first does "Require TLS." However, if TLS is not supported by the receiving server, have Office 365 automatically fail back over to OME and send out the e-mail securely that way. With Require TLS, if the receiving server doesn't support TLS, the user has to wait to find out that their e-mail did not go through. They also have to resend the e-mail manually.…
