  1. Backup the exchange mailboxes! There is no exchange backup in office365.

When a number of "user created" exchange folders were hard deleted by mistake, we opened a premier case - 116120615030507. To make a long story short, we found out that there is no exchange backup of the exchange mailboxes in this case. If items are accidentally hard deleted by the customer, there is no recovery of the mailbox. This is a worse situation than we had on premise, where we could restore mailboxes.

Accidents happen, nobody is flawless and and you have to be able to restore from backup. We actually had to use a combination of mfc mapi and…

  2. Remove case sensitive searches for shared mailboxes and permissions

Over the last month or so case sensitive searches have been added into the shared mailbox and permissions sections on the Office 365 admin page. Could these be reverted back or was there a reason for case sensitive searches being added?

I had weeks of no results coming back until I spoke to Microsoft Support who also have the issue and they noticed it is now case sensitive.

  3. Custom Domains on Office 365 Home Premium

Bring back the ability to have custom domains on O365 Home Premium. I have a family domain and want to set it up as a domain on my O365 account.

  4. Change initials on microsoft office

It would be great if we could change the initials in the colored circle on outlook. I am able to change it on word, excel, etc. so it would be awesome to do this on outlook too.

  5. SharePoint Document Library limit of 5000 - Ridiculous

We planned to migrate from Dropbox to a SharePoint document library and when implemented, we immediately hit the 5000 item limit in a library. This is ridiculous in 2018. We have used folders with over 35,000 files on Dropbox without any issues. This is an unfortunate limit for a product that is called Office365 for business.

Please increase this limit or provide another means to load and backup large datasets.

  6. Administrator should manage domains as "sub-tenents" in isolation

Administrator should be able to manage each domain separately. For Example in One Drive, if you try to share a folder, the invitation list will show users in other domains. This also goes for sharing Sharepoint Team documents. Administrator should have administer each domain as a separate group (like sub-tenents) Creating a tenant for each client requires an additional Administrator license which is redundant. One tenant Administrator should be able to manage multiple small customers in separate domains as sub-tenants which can be totally isolated. If you have many small clients this is necessary. If you have an enterprise having…

  7. enable conversation view for shared mailbox to include sent messages

It would be very beneficial to have the Conversation View show sent emails in a shared mailbox. It appears that the conversation view does not show emails from sent or any other folders in the INBOX.

  8. Report which shows the amount of OneDrive for Business storage per user.

    Hello,

It would be great to be able to compile reports which show the OneDrive for Business usage per user.

Reporting this idea by suggestion of Andy Sek:

RE: Check OneDrive for Business size per user
Reply by Andy Sek MSFT Support
    Hi Andy,
Currently, there is no report that includes the OneDrive for Business storage usage for each user. You may need to use the Global administrator account to access each OneDrive for Business to have a check.
To be honest, to get a report is a good idea. To better serve you, we would suggest that you submit…

We are currently working on this report. We will have a OneDrive site usage report that not only shows how much storage each OneDrive user is consuming, but also how many files they have on the site, and how much activity that site is experiencing.

  9. clear dirsync errors from dashboard

within settings ---> dirsync errors, there is no way to clear out old errors that have been resolved. We also get weekly emails saying we have dirsync errors in which we do not have any current ones, rather it is a summary of old errors we have that makes us think we have current synchronization errors. This has came up on a support posting: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeo365admin-msoother-mso_o365b/how-to-clear-dirsync-error-report/97b43be7-5155-4a75-b69e-9782efdd161b

please add a way to clear out old errors from this dashboard.

  10. Dynamic distribution group based on domain

It seems impossible to create a DDL based on the domain name, because the recipient filter does not accept wildcard at first position in the -like condition.

  11. Request Exchange hybrid key for Exchange Server 2019 activation with Hybrid Configuration Wizard (HCW)

Actually it is not possible to obtain a free Exchange Server 2019 activation with a hybrid key. For earlier Exchange Versions this works trough HCW, but not with Exchange 2019: "Please note that HCW does not provide a 'hybrid key' for Exchange Server 2019. If you need a hybrid key, the latest version that it is available for is Exchange Server 2016."

This is not customer friendly at all - so please add Exchange 2019 to this feature.

  12. I would like to get an uptime graph for an specific tenant, instead of an uptime report for the whole datacenter

I would like to get an uptime graph for an specific tenant, instead of an uptime report for the whole datacenter.
Right now we can only get the Regional uptime graph and a tenant-level availability report will be much more helpful.

  13. RSS feed for Service Health Dashboard

RSS feed for Service Health Dashboard is not available anymore.
Now User can get service health notifications from the Office 365 Admin mobile app.

But the previous RSS feed was also fruitful service since User can download it by Outlook Client.
Re-release RSS feed for Service Health Dashboard will be an ideal feature for many Users.

This feedback is based on a customer voice from support SR.

  14. Be able to query Office 365 license expiry date via PowerShell

We want to be able to pull license expiry reports via other tools to keep our expiry reports consistent (IT Glue in this case). I can query many things by Office365 PowerShell module, including the license types, but I cannot query the dates in which these expire.
Why does this ability not exist? Can we get that exposed as part of the Office 365 powershell commandlets

  15. Expand Email Activity Report to Include Shared Mailboxes

Currently, the Email Activity Report only presents data for user mailboxes. Expanding this report so that it could include shared mailbox types would be great, as we use shared mailboxes for "contact us" and "support@" mailboxes for may of our customers. Being able to show email volume for these mailboxes over specific date / time ranges would be a great help!

  16. Allow automapping on shared mailbox folders independent of access permission type.

Auto mapping to a shared mailbox should be allowed even if the user doesn't have Full permissions. Many times I have to manually add in Outlook and on a large organization of over 3000 users is time consuming.

  17. Usage reports for SharePoint

Provide centralized usage reports for entire SharePoint Online tenant such as page views, user sessions, usage per site collection, etc. Individual site collection reports are ok but are not centralized.

We are working on many of these report areas right now. We have a tenant-wide user activity report in development right now. The next report we will work on will be a tenant-wide site usage and activity report. After that, we will look at various other tenant-wide reports, including page-views, and storage metrics.

  18. Ability to rename initial domain

Allow renaming of initial domain. Would save a large amount of resources if the company did not have to setup and migrate to a new tenant organisation if the company name changed, eg for a merger/split.

  20. Exchange Online Powershell with Service Principal

I'd like to run the exchange online powershell with a service principal. The use case is easy - we're running a background service setting some specific configuration on user mailboxes and don't want to use an admin account for that. It's sad this is not on the graph directly possible but at least make SPNs available for use with Exchange Powershell.
