Problem Pushing User Images from AD all the way to SharePoint
Want to sychronise staff photos from AD into SharePoint Online automatically and prevent user from changing their photo in SharePointOnline. Told by microsoft this isn't possible and that the user must manually remove the photo from their profile in order for AD to synchronise, this is not a great experience, we also don't want users to upload their own photos as we want to portray a professional image using own inhouse photos. if we can sync from AD to exchange online automatically why not to SharePoint Online?
I have had multiple battles trying to get support to give this some traction and raise internally. We primarily want this to appear in OWA and the portal, but have been told it is a one time sync. Apparently, they want users to be responsible for this and upload via the portal directly as it has higher quality limits than the on premise attribute, but I have explained that it is an admin nightmare to manage via powershell, especially if you want the on premise and cloud objects to have the same picture (the whole frickin point of AD sync!!!). CodeTwo have recently released this free tool, which may help, but is not a solution to the problem!
can we move this to the top of the pile somehow? it is getting no visibility on the forum - but it so important to us. can Microsoft please respond somehow?
An absolute must - the fact that this is even an issue is an indictment of the lack of cohesion and true integration in O365. And a reflection of the same in Msft culture.
