Ability to rename initial domain
Allow renaming of initial domain. Would save a large amount of resources if the company did not have to setup and migrate to a new tenant organisation if the company name changed, eg for a merger/split.

I'm also for the ability to change initial domain in O365. I sincerely hope this be available soon!

Please fix this Microsoft. Thank you,
we really need to ability to rename the tenant.
I want this but I'm out of votes!

Add votes here
Just had a call with MS support. They said this is coming, but don't know when. The more people that add their votes, the higher up this feature will be for the developement team

As David mentioned, you may want to transfer your votes to the more highly voted request which is the very same thing...

Critical feature, but Microsoft seem to ignore all request to implement this.

Same here as Chris - company was acquired and wish to keep O365 but work under new name for things like OneDrive sharing URL, etc.

The O365 domain name assigned by MS for our domain without consulting with us prior to assignment is unacceptable. Now we're told that we can set up another domain but we need to migrate all of our data that has taken us a year to do will have to be migrated by us again. This is totally acceptable. The on-prem office version provides this capability, why can't the new more advanced version do the same thing. We need a workable solution - provide the same option as on-prem or find another solution but make it easy without movement of data.

My company merged and we have had a issue of trying to cover our old name. It cannot fully be done.
The workaround of building a new tenant is not feasible. This should be an urgent request!
This is a very much needed feature as companies are merged and renamed.
