Export mailbox in Exchange Online to pst using PowerShell
Kevin G commented
From an O365 Tenant Admin who oversees 30,000 plus students and 6,000 plus staff, having the ability to export student/staff mailboxes via PowerShell would save us hours and hours of GUI portal time.
If we had PowerShell access to export the mailboxes from Exchange Online, then we could script those exports and would not have to touch the Portal.
Currently, we have to create a 'New-MailboxSearch', and then download the results using a web browser when a student/staff member separates from us.
Please consider giving us our time back, and bring back the ability to export Exchange Online MB’s via PowerShell (New-MailboxExportRequest).

I would like to see this functionality as well so we can automate moving a users online archive back into their primary mailbox.
Bring this back! New-MailboxExportRequest
Currently migrating 365 ->365, this is a frustrating procedure without automation. Please give us scriptable functionality for mailbox exports.
This makes tenant to tenant migration even more difficult, MS really needs to reconsider on how to bring this back!
I wish I could give this more then 3 votes. Bring this back! New-MailboxExportRequest
I agree. It's great that I can do it from the portal, but that doesn't help if I need to script it...!
This would be a very interesting function
This should be implemented as most of the customer want this feature.

Also Export the Online Archive for an on premise mailbox.
We have New-MailboxImportRequest, but no New-MailboxExportRequest. This really should be standard, and we shouldn't have to do a Compliance Manager just to export the PST.
I know you can export to *pst from the portal but I'm not certain if there is a way to use PowerShell.
Here is how you do it in Portal:
Go to Exchange Online - > Compliance Manager -> In place E-Discovery&hold
Create new -> Specify Mailbox and off you go.
Hope this helps
We are required to export to PST when a User leave the organization. We are automating our process but since the export to PST is not possible we are limited on this one.
It would be great if pst export would be available via public/documented REST/SOAP api. Many users want to use this feature for Microsoft-independent off-site backup. And I want to use linux servers for this backups. So powershell only won't be very helpful.
But maybe the eDiscovery PST Export tool could be also improved with some commandline parameters. ;)
Yes Please this is a major pain not being able to export from the tenant.
