Just tried to export a mailbox using PS to find it isn't possible. Totally surprised that this feature is not available.
Can revoke user licenses, convert mailbox to shared, set forwarding without going anywhere near teh web gui. Yet have to log into it to export to pst. Crazy!! Please, Please enable this feature.
This is really frustrating and becoming too much overhead in segregating admin work from legal work. please ring it back
Powershell export from exchange online to PST is really needed. Please get it back.

I'll throw my name in the basket as well as someone who needs this added ASAP to O365. We have recently sold a part of our business and need to move the users to a new tenant. Using eDiscovery or adding these employees to Outlook just to export 75 times is beyond archaic. It's 2017, we know how to script, and we can even pick up our knuckles when we walk. Stop the nonsense and add this please!

How many people have requested this feature since Office 365 was launched? How many years has it been since Office 365 has launched? Why does this feature not exist yet? Or does it exist, and you don't know how to properly document\explain it, because you bloated it to be more than it needs to be like you do to everything else? Stop trying to appease the user experience in business computing. Businesses have laws and policies to adhere to, and that does not include any degree of privacy or required pleasant user experience for their employees. The computers in a business are for doing a job, and anything and everything you do on their PC is subject to search and seizure. We should have an easy way to grab the data, and grab it quickly. We need a one line command to retrieve a users mailbox, and we've needed it for years; what's the hold up?

PowerShell is great for scripting and automating processes but not having the ability to easily export mailbox data for disabled (or current) users means that the process for removing licenses from ex-users can't be automated.

We have a requirement to take a snapshot of the mailbox for every person that is separated from our company for legal purposes. We have this currently running via PowerShell onPrem with Exchange 2013 and not having this feature in the cloud is very difficult for us. We do understand we can put all our users on Legal Hold, but the not having the ability to script the PST part is crippling to our processes.
I would really like to have Microsoft enable this feature again. It is a critical part of our business workflow

Please bring this back. Export via eDiscovery is already happening and just frustrating your admins.
Basic functionality and still missing?!?! Bring back New-MailboxExportRequest.

Powershell export from exchange online to PST is mandatory. Please get it back.
Shared this idea September 2015 and STILL nothing? Can this be true? (this was the first result in my search)

Instructions for backing up ex-staff mailbox "Add the former employee's email address to your version of Outlook 2013 or 2016, and then export the data to a .pst file. You can import the data to another email account as needed."
Office 365 migration just continues to frustrate and disappoint me.

I would like to share my experience with this issue.
I have tried PowerShell as well as an automated solution to export Exchange Online mailbox to PST.
According to my personal experience, I would like the viewers to go for an automated solution as it's cost effective as well as time-saving approach.
I used SysTools Office 365 Backup & Restore tool for this purpose. The link to the site is:

I cannot stress how badly I need the New-mailboxexportrequest function enabled. Please make it so certain accounts can be given permissions for mailbox export and this command run.

Give me the New-MailboxExportRequest commandlet

Why isn't this basic feature enabled.

From an O365 Tenant Admin who oversees 30,000 plus students and 6,000 plus staff, having the ability to export student/staff mailboxes via PowerShell would save us hours and hours of GUI portal time.
If we had PowerShell access to export the mailboxes from Exchange Online, then we could script those exports and would not have to touch the Portal.
Currently, we have to create a 'New-MailboxSearch', and then download the results using a web browser when a student/staff member separates from us.
Please consider giving us our time back, and bring back the ability to export Exchange Online MB’s via PowerShell (New-MailboxExportRequest).
