SharePoint Online Audit Feature
Hippa and the Audit Feature in SharePoint Online. The feature in SharePoint Online does not capture the information about when and document is viewed by an individual or opened by an individual. This information is important for Hippa sensitive information. I would like to see the return of this capability on sites that are being audited
We are working on this feature. All file access events will be audited in the product, whether those events ultimately result in a person viewing the file or not. The data about who did what, when and from where, with every file stored in SharePoint will be made available through a compliance center UI and also through APIs that the customer or 3rd party analytics provider can access directly.

Is there a way to see how many times different videos where played and by who for SPO? (In audit logs, PowerBi or any-other analytics site)

And also even if it captures other updates, our compliance requires the audit version history to be reported like via an export being made available to business. Currently, I understand this is not available. Kindly consider this. Thanks!
These posts are up to 3 years old, when will this functionality become available?
This functionality is very necessary.
Please return it.
It is not desirable to use third party software for internal sites.
Desmond - from the compliance center "search and investigation" you can now run an Audit of when, what, SharePoint Online "documents" in a doc library have been accessed and by who. This feature has been there several months now.
However - the capability still is not there that shows this for SharePoint list items.
When will get this feature?
Being able to audit who accessed a SharePoint list would be nice.

Seems that even on SPO Enterprise this is still unavailable - even though the function "Content Viewing" is shown under View Auditing Reports - which is therefore highly misleading. The other reports (eg deletions, mods etc) run nicely. This is vital information for customers to verify ROI as well as compliance on their system. We understand it will generate a lot of data in report but surely the tenant model can handle it or throttle accordingly. Please sort this out!

Im having that same problem myself. I need to pull Audit reports myself and to view individual information that I determine what documents are being reviews by an individual or opened as well. This information is viable to our organization and valuable to see where our end users are view the most of current documentation of specific business units.
